Shumpert has apparently shored up his defensive inefficiencies, at least is less a negative as compared to Green. I'll live with a Shumpert miss than a Green miss from a bad shot. And I know Shumpert won't make dumb fouls.
Green serves a purpose. He tried to do a little to much, but all those wonky 3's he shoots, that's what he does. Green can get hot at any moment. I have no problem MDA playing GG. Rockets need players that aren't afraid to shoot. GSW is so afraid to play their bench they got the starters playing 40+ minutes.
Green is such a liability on defense that unless he hits multiple 3's in a row, it's not good having him on the court
He will be fine defensively if he jams Curry in the ankle or pokes Green in the eye ball for all the BS Green has pulled in the first 3 games.
Doghouses are small. Definitely cannot hold 6'6 and 6'8 guys inside of it. They have to just stand on top of it.
GG is a streaky shooter, he's kinda high risk/reward dude. if we can get 1 great game out of him i don't mind at all
Yeah that’s my fear too. I’m glad he did well tonight, but I am not sure it is sustainable. If he goes 0-4 in 5 minutes again, I don’t care how good his defense is.
Green will probably have a awesome second or third quarter in one of the next 2 games to push this to a 6th game. Which would be in Houston.
with no scoring 6th man we need green's shooting off the bench. shump will have to prove he can do this for more than one game to knock out both house and green out of the rotation for good.
The key to bench production is to find who’s on. 1) Sometimes it’s multiple guys. 2) Sometimes it’s nobody. 3) Sometimes it’s someone you don’t expect. Today it was a combo of 1 and 3. D’antoni nailed it today by giving Shump a chance and he delivered even though he was in a deep slump. Between Green, House and Shumpert you just never know which one will contribute. None of the 3 are consistent enough to make the others obsolete. Next game it could be Green and I won’t be surprised if House reappears and comes up big. It would be foolish to “put Green on the doghouse.” If Shump never got run today nobody would’ve batted an eye based upon how poorly he’s played.
That’s the thing. Unless we put him in and let him fire away we won’t know. Today Dan Tony made the proper ADJUSTMENT and got it right. Green was 0-3 in 7 minutes and Shump was 3-5 in 18 minutes. Can’t tell who has the hot hand unless you give them some run.
good i hope they keep playing kd 40+ every game. only 2 days between games now. next game is the series. we win that we got some momentum going into g5, lose it and its all but over.
