ProMing - If he works out, then we're just good team chemistry and some development away from being a contender.

if we don't take Ming, a really really good trade better be made, otherwise i don't see us getting over the hump in the next few years without trading an "untouchable" or playing the lottery again and again

Pro MING!! Give the big guy a chance!! Dont envy him..if your going to criticize the guy why dont you consider everything you can do he can do better!! He can do anything better than you!! Iv'e never even heard of shaq going 21 for 21..i'd bet you Yao could outscore shaq from the line.

He already has more talent in his little finger than Shawn "stinkin" Bradley, he can already speak better English than Bill "apple-stuck-in-my-mouth" Walton

This guy has major potential and the intangibles that the Rockets don't already have. At worst, Ming will be a shot-blocking specialist who can actaully hit a jumper here and there. At best, we know the best with Olajuwon and from what I've heard, he does possess some of that athleticism.

I'm a gambling man....love em or leave em!!

Why? Because we are probably going to draft him.

Beyond that, I really don't know anything about him, and unlike some people, I don't pretend that I do.

Therefore, I reserve the right to rip him a new one if he is a bust:p

I've heard this before from the anti_ming crowd, and I still wonder...How does Odom and a couple of rookies give us interior toughness that Ming may or may not provide? Can you guarantee that whoever we pick with the 8 and 12 will provide that?
No offence intended, I just haven;t heard a good answer to these questions

becasue we must appreciate what he is doing year in and year out and how he overcame lots of adversities (mental, biological, physical) to contiue competing in this league.

yeah...i can understand if they were ani-yao before the draft, but after what we saw from his rookie season, it was clear the guy had a lot of upside.

just a little FYI for you noobs

its generally frowned upon to bump a old old thread like this, If you wanted to make that comment, you should have linked to the thread in the other thread you found this in, and made you comment there.

    In before the lock.

It's one thing to be a noob and bump up an old thread. It might even be understandable if the guy you were calling out had pissed you off or something. But the fact that EGQ hasn't posted since Oct 2002, and the thread was for when Yao played his first ever minutes in a preseason game against the Spurs, makes you look like a total moron.

Whever I see moments of like this, I just have to know what led to this. What was the train of thought, what was going on in your life that you had to search through thousands of threads to find this and call out some guy you have never talked to?
