610 and Chronicle reporting Astros have come to terms with Preston Wilson for 1 year....

I would have included it in the other thread, but that one is getting out of hand and a tad off topic.

Cool, now trade for Tejada and I will be happy.

    Why only 1 year?

Now they can finally say, "Houston Astros, an equal opportunity employer."

Place him in left & Berkman at first & trade Everett for....hell, ANYONE else & I will be happy. But I do NOT want us to put Preston in center & Willy T/Jason Lane on the pine just so Bags can play.

Great move. Now all we need is for Clemens to come back and we have ourselves a world series contender again.

If healthy Preston could produce 30 and 100 easily in MMP.

I completely agree with you. Bags should not play if he can not throw. Berkman is a natural first baseman. Wilson should play in left field.

If Bagwell is healthy, he's better than either Lane or Willy T. His worst season (2004), when his shoulder was dysfunctional, was better than Lane's last year. If his shoulder actually works, he should be better than that. We'll see, though.

What this does open the door to is trading Lane, if we're still in the mix for a Tejada, etc type.

If Bagwell is healthy and shows he is could maybe hit 25 home runs, Willy T should be the odd man out.

I was looking at his stats over at ESPN and it said he made $12.5 million last season. I wonder how much were paying him?

From Insider....looks like we have asked about Tejada...

Jan 3 - The Orioles would like to decide the fate of shortstop Miguel Tejada within the next several days, the Boston Herald reports. Among the possible trade partners with Baltimore are the Red Sox, who are offering outfielder Manny Ramirez and pitcher Matt Clement in exchange for Tejada and an outfielder, who could be 22-year-old prospect Nick Markakis.
Though there are other teams interested in Tejada, none may be able to offer the package put forth by the Red Sox. The Cubs reportedly have offered Mark Prior and outfielder Corey Patterson in a package for Tejada. The Astros also have expressed interest in the shortstop, but no one can offer Baltimore a hitter like Ramirez in return.

    i dunno about that...

best case scenario is probably like .280, .330 obp, 75 runs, 90 rbis, 25 hrs if he can get in 150 games, which isn't likely.

but i do like the signing depending on the contract.
