According to 2 different complex and sophisticated simulations(2k:grin:), Asik is going to have a great year.

Getting a feeling that he will play a lot of minutes, like 35-40 a game. Team simply has no one else like him to deminate the boards and protect the paint. He is also staying away from foul trouble at least in the preseason (less than 2 PF in 24 mpg).

If he gets 36 mpg, he can easily average something like 10 pts, 15 rebounds and maybe 2.5 assists a game. Shot blocking will likely be down to maybe 1.2 to 1.5 a game due to trying to limit fouls.

Easily average 15 rebounds? What are you on crack?

I predict 8/10.5/2blk/1.5 ast. He plays around 32 mpg probably.

If Lin doesn't play then I don't think Asik will be doing too well on the offensive end.
Since I don't think anyone else on the team is going to set him up

So your using a 3 game sample size and in preseason at that.... In addition, your assuming Omer will play 36 minutes per game.... Last season Omer averaged 5.3 rebs in 14.7mpg off the bench. So he was up against backups.
Omer will average 11 rebs per game tops and that is already quite good.

Seriously probably the most meaningless stats you could possibly bring up.

First, it is 4 games, not 3. Not that hard to count to 4, not for those of us who are not mentally r****ded, that is.

Second, the sample of Rockets preseason games is likely more representative of what Ömer will face this season:

    A. He will play next to Patterson, who has rebounded at a very low rate in his career, rather than decent rebounding PFs like Gibson and Boozer.

    B. The Rockets want to play fast paced this year and has pushed the ball in preseason. The Bulls of last season was the 3rd slowest paced team in the NBA. More possessions = more available rebounds.

Third, I said he can average 15 rpg "if" he gets 36 mpg. Look up the meaning of "if" and read my first sentence before talking about what I am or am not assuming.

I think 15 is a little more than he'll get. I'm expecting about 12.5 if he played 36 minutes per game. I think you are right on the blocks going down, but I don't expect it will hurt the Rockets defense too much.

if most other guys keep defending like they are, opposing teams are going to shoot .900 against the Rockets and there won't be defensive boards to be had!
