    Fans of this team or players on the team should have low expectations of our playoff seeding. You will be less disappointed that way.

    I'd expect 7th, maybe 6th, but at least 8th.

    I think the two new guys, along with Capela and Dmo, will help us stay above .500 the rest of the way. They could definitely end the season with a 5 game winning streak.

    I looked at the records last night and came up with almost the exact same thing as OP. 8th seed is going to be rough but it is much better than not making the playoffs.

    Man this is a brutal stretch of games coming up for the Rockets. 5 games all on the road in 7 nights... mixed with 2 back to backs...then to come back and face the Clippers and Memphis at home... This road trip will make or break the season...If the Rockets manage to get 3 out of 5...they could sneak in as the 8th seed. If they lose all 5, they may very well be out of it completely...

    the Ides of March...

    With Capela and DMo back the big man rotation should be a LOT better than it's been at any point this season so there's a chance the team goes on a run and finishes 6th but I think there is a very small chance they don't at least make the playoffs.

    Jimmy Butler found the game against us to come back from injury and with not minutes restriction too. Now less sure we will beat them.

    Well I think I was wrong. I think we can make the playoffs now.
    Mavs & Blazers have been sucking. We've been playing good. And now Grizzlie's Mario Chalmers has ruptured his achilles. So now the list of Grizzlies out for the season include: Gasol, Brandon Wright, and Mario Chalmers. I think they'll sink in the standings fast.

    If we end up 5th seed, which is very real now, it will be nothing short of amazing considering how weird this season has gone.

    Actually I'd prefer 6th seed. I'd prefer OKC then the Spurs, instead of Clippers then the Warriors. Let Portland be the 5th seed.

    have to keep on winning, i think 6th seed is probably where we will end up at. if our bench can score on consistent basis, we can be pretty good.

    Wouldn't be so unhappy with the 8th seed. All roads for any team in the West leads to facing GS in the conference finals...so might as well meet our fate in the first round...sans the Spurs potentially, it will be the same fate for everyone.

    And who knows, maybe a miracle happens and we beat the defending champs. Haha

    Some of you posters don't understand how the NBA works.
    I admit I was wrong about the Rockets not making the playoffs, now that I look at the schedules and seeing Utah drop their games and Houston picking up that Toronto win.

    But here you have a prediction of the Rockets going 14-4. They've been playing .500 ball all year. They're not all of a sudden going to go on a 14-4 tear. I would like to think they can turn it on just like that, but try to not put too much emphasis on a Toronto win where they only played in the 4th and a Philly win that should have been no match; I'll learn to not dwell on a Milwaukee loss. After the season you've seen, you actually think they're going to win .777 of their remaining games?

    Also I predict we upset and beat okc in rd 1. I don't think we will beat SAS in the 2nd rd but I think we take it to 6 or 7 games. With a very slim chance of an upset although highly unlikely.
