Hope he recovers. I don't see why people are jumping all over other members who ask if it was in Houston, and posting articles about it. Hearing about tragedies like this fuels curiosity.
Praryers, and keep the updates coming CCR. Swelling on the brain can be serious but if treated in time there can be full recovery....let's keep praying for that. DD
Terrible news and my best wishes for a complete recovery. At least he's somewhere that has an excellent critical care unit.
Leaving Ben Taub for now. Paramedics said that he was moving his body parts after the accident which is a good thing. He had surgery in the morning to release pressure. No bodily injuries but has a severe head injury. He's stable but sedated heavily until his brain resumes functionality. The next 24-48 hours are key. Hoping and praying for the best.
Ben Taub is a fantastic trauma center - it won't be pretty, but it'll save your life.... ... but once you're stable you wanna get outa there pronto because they're only good at being a trauma center.
still, this is good news for a fractured skull and brain swelling. the fact that he wasn't in a coma or paralyzed should be counted as a blessing...
Man I hope he'll recover soon. Keep us updated. I'm always overly alert when I'm around or crossing the rail. Crossing tracks have always made me nervous for some reason.
