Assuming we go barely 8 deep in the playoffs it looks like: CP3 Harden Tucker Faried Capela Gordon Rivers We still have Green but doubt he'll be relied on for big minutes. Looks to me we need a big. Just someone to help us get rebounds and stop easy layups for spot minutes. How is Omer Asik doing these days?
Nene and Shump will be in rotation depending on matchups. And do not be surprised if Morey picks up another buyout.
Yeah, Luc has been injured all year and has played a TOTAL of 61 minutes in the Clippers' 60 games this year. My advanced MoreyMath™ tells me that's averaging a hair over one minute per game. He didn't break a bone, tear a ligament or a tendon, or damage his meniscus. It's just general ol' "knee soreness." But hey, two months ago he said he'd be returning soon: And here's a picture of him today:
T. Jones or K. Morris? Jones maybe the the missing piece... His talent has always be undeniable and we all thought in time... Time has happened... And Morris made the decision a lot more easy for us going to OKC. ————————- House is the last domino to fall Key Rotation Paul, Harden, House, Faried, Capela Gordon- Three-man guard rotation Tucker— Three-man forward rotation (w/ Faried - slide over to the 5 at times) Spot minuets Nene - Big Shump - defense Rivers - eat minuets Green- energized scoring Jones- (unknown) maybe makes gets 10 to 20 minutes as a 4/5 utility type play - fingers-crossed
Idk about Jones getting any minutes this season. But, he will get the opportunity to prove himself in practice and maybe some garbage time while he is with the team. Idk if he will be signed for the rest of the season but he might be on the radar for a minimum signing next season. I think the playoff depth chart looks like this. CP3/Rivers Harden/Gordon PJ/Shumpert/Green Faried Capela Nene will get spot minutes depending on match up. Shumpert and Green can get spot minutes at the 4 depending on matchup. Faried will go to the 5 and PJ to the 4 when Shumpert or Green comes in. IMO this is a deeper team than last year’s playoffs team. Let’s hope all of the rest for CP pays off and Harden doesn’t burn out. Things can be really interesting this season.
All this is just my opinion: As stated Jones is an unknown When House comes back he bumps both Green and Shumpert out of the rotation 7 man key rotation Harden Paul 32 x 2 = 64 minuets +/- Gordon House Faried Capela Tucker 30 x 5 = 150 minuets +/- Spot minuets = 26 +/- minuets All this time is just situational depending on what the team needs & is up for grabs on a nightly basis. Nene / Rivers > Shumpert / Green > Hartenstien / ?Jones? / ???
I like House as much as the next guy.. but was his Rockets run this year really better than Shumps with the Kings? Im not too sure about that. Yes he knows our system and physically sure. Im still betting on Shump right now to be better than House. Especially come playoff time.
Shumpert doesn’t bring much in terms of shooting or rebounding and his defense has been pretty average. He’s like tucker but worse in every way, and having both on the floor puts too much pressure on others to create. Don’t get where his “playoff experience” is supposed to help, he’s proven to be unplayable against the warriors in the playoffs for last 2 years on a team with George hill and JR smith playing heavy minutes. Would rather have House much more potential upside than Shumpert.
I would like one more big who is a 4/5, more on the 5 side. PJ needs to be our 3, hes been guarding the durants/lebrons well and is the only guy on our team who can do it well. We need Someone to back up KF at PF and can roll to the 5 since Nene cant be too heavily relied upon. I really liked Morris, thought he was a perfect fit, but seems that ship has sailed.
