I'm starting to get there, but I just consistently fear that this team does not have a 7th gear when the playoffs come. They already play every game at 6th gear, a few higher than every other team, just to compete with the elite teams. But what about in those 7 games series when the other team is also playing in their highest gear?
I hope Coach Rick gives more playing time to David Andersen even when Carl comes back to give him even more confidence. He's not as efficient now as Chuck but he gives as another offensive threat. Hopefully he progresses like Luis in his first year, where he took the starting spot from Chuck. No offense to Chuck but a much more productive David Andersen will do wonders for our team. I think he needs to lessen his post moves a bit when his trying to attack, it seems that it tires him out unlike Luis who has a great engine. Great win for the Rockets and the fans!
i hate the mavs, they are the one sports franchise i hate more than any others... by far. they have no class, dirk's an ***, josh howard is a ghetto loser, kidd beats his wife, barea is a little ****, terry is a prick, dampier is a waste of a 7 footer, marion rides good pg's coattails, if not he sucks. i HATE them! i'm so glad we won.
The answer to both posts is "yes"...he struck her and apparently she later struck back. No wonder he has all this aggression that he feels he needs to take out on random Australians. Read below....and geez, whatever you do, don't contest him if he wants your french fries..... http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2007/0110071jasonkidd1.html Jason Kidd: "Wife Abused Me" NBA star seeks divorce, claims to be victim of "extreme cruelty" JANUARY 10--Basketball star Jason Kidd, who was once arrested for domestic abuse, claims that his wife has turned the tables on him, forcing the New Jersey Net yesterday to file for divorce. The 33-year point guard alleges that wife Joumana has become "increasingly controlling and manipulative" over the past few years and has kick, hit, and punched him. According to the athlete's divorce petition, a copy of which you'll find below, Joumana's "extreme cruelty" also included throwing household objects at her husband. Kidd also alleges that she tried to monitor his whereabouts by placing tracking devices on his cars and stealing his cell phone from his locker. The complaint was filed in Bergen County Superior Court and will likely trigger a counterclaim by Joumana, according to Raoul Lionel Felder, one of her lawyers. In January 2001, the 6' 4" Kidd was arrested in Arizona for punching Joumana in the mouth during an argument apparently triggered by Kidd's consumption of a french fry from his young son's plate, according to a police report. Kidd later copped a plea and was ordered to attend anger management classes. In a 911 call to Paradise Valley police (which can be found here) Joumana told an operator that her husband, who then played for the Phoenix Suns, had a "bad history" of abusing her. "I told him that this would be the last time," Joumana claimed, "and he did, he popped me right in the mouth." (6 pages)

The more I see of Ariza handling the ball the more a vomit. He can not play like a 2, he needs to stick to the 3, and sometimes the 4, he can guard whoever he wants, but he should be limited in his "creative" drives, which usually result in something ugly, I know that it takes time, but the last few games every time he touches the ball I get that awful feeling and want him to pass it immediately. On to Lowry, great game, really think the small guard duo is playing out and with a healthy tmac to be able to put in a taller guard to go along with one either Brooks or Lowry will improve this team. However, it was a play involving Ariza and Lowry that nearly lost me a glass coffee table. When you are up four with just a minute and change left in the game, don't force anything, take it out run the clock get a good shot, but please dont drive and force a very awkward forced attempt, lowry should have either kept the ball and gone up for the shot or even better come back out and set the offense, almost cost us the game imo. Also very confused on the Technical fouls. Why was lowry shooting them, he made the first two, I was happy, but he is a 78% free throw shooter, I would prefer someone better than that, not sure Brooks would have missed the 1 at the end of regulation had he of had those technicals to get the blood flowing, cause for a while lowry was getting it done so well Brooks didn't handle for several posessions in a row. That's not a really a big deal, just an observation. On to the reffing, too many techs, the Kidd one was very similar to the Fisher play of last season, unusually dirty for Kidd. The one that sent Dampier out of the game, terrible, brooks fouled him by pulling his body down, that **** hurts when youre not expecting a sudden weight to be forced on your body against your momentum, he naturally turned around and realized it was brooks and stopped, so very obvious. Could have let that one go imo. However it was a proper call of a flagrant foul since he did not go for the ball. Other than that I didn't think they did too poorly, other than taking WAY too much time to settle all of their business. Mcgrady - still looks very out of sync, naturally. I hope to see him more than just the first quarter soon, but the way I understood it was he will play limited first half minutes till the end of this series of back-to-backs, then they would step back and analyze where to go from there. As infuriating as it was to watch our lead bobble up and down, I was incredibly impressed and proud that we never caved in like the previous games, we were down 10, came back, were up by 10, lead cut to 2 or 0 and we would push it back up to 10, several times this happened, now we just focus on sustaining a lead and putting teams out when we have the chance, something we have not been very good at overall in Houston. Lastly, good luck to Carl on his dental recovery, 6th man of the year fo sho
Good win over the Mavs, but what I'm concerned more about is tomorrow's game against the up and coming Thunders, we fought too hard and went through an OT to finish off those Mavs. Hope they won't get as lethargic they once were against the Raptors in the first half the other day.
It was worth it to gain experience winning a close, hotly contested game. The Thunder played tonight, too, so they won't have a huge advantage.
also really happy we went on a nice run when TMac was in. i think its going to work out. i see him contributing in a team-centric kinda way, and this season getting better and better.
Great win over the Mavs however I see trouble tomorrow against the Thunder. I find it hard to see how we are going to match our intensity and effort after a tough match with overtime. Hopefully its not too much of an ask, but can someone post a video of T-Mac from the game so we can dissect every little movement of his 7 minutes on court.
