Let's just say this: the only downside to this was that it's the KNICKS. We play a game like this against the Lakers and I'm in heaven. As is too common recently, terrible start, but our bench is just on god mode right now. It's almost getting to where it's unfair for the other benches in the league. I think this was another in a long line of games that suggest Battriza needs to be broken up. Lowry is god.
I imagine the team needed this win more than we did...but I know I'm very very happy tonight, especially as the Knicks looked pretty darned decent out there. This wasn't a steamroll of a win, we had to earn it; those are the best kind. Good ball movement and more team play, like we're used to seeing. Hopefully this is a really good portent for the many upcoming home games we've got...I'd love to see us move back up in the division/conference and right quickly at that. Now, if only the Mavericks lose tonight, my happiness will be complete.
Luis started the revival, along with the bench. He is the player of the game. He kept us going when Landry was having a rough time. Nice to see Brooks picking it up in the later part of the game with Landry,Battier and Lowry. Props to C-Bud and Andersen.
Hayes did a great defensive job on Lee in the second half. Just shut him down in the third Q. Lowry played a superb game both offensively and defensively on Robinson.
New Rocket strategy: Get Trevor off to 50% shooting in the first quarter and in heavy foul trouble so he has to be pulled. Works every time!
these arent the old crappy knicks. D'antoni is pretty much going to get any team out there to be able to score a good number of points, but this team actually was getting back on D and playing d int he half court. Not great d, but a d'anotni team just needs to be willign to try to stay in games. Both lee and chandler are severely underrated and nate robinson is streaky but he's automatic when he's hitting.
Great win, but again the bench saved the starters, didn't they? As a response to the statement from another poster that we have a contender's bench and a 1st round starters, I couln't disagree more. The starters without the bench are lottery bound. I have no doubts about. Explanation? How many games has our bench has won for us this year? In fact, I can only remember one game our bench was ineffective.
