the ball didnt move as much this game. when the ball moves, more people touch it and get in a rhythm which makes shooting easier. we dont have a consistent shooter except battier and brooks, but even they can be streaky. everyone has their off games. especially with the way we shot last game.
We have a lot of ballstoppers on the bench. Artest, Wafer, even Cook (even though we don't use him.) Scola sometimes is also a ball stopper. All four of these guys, when the chips are down, tend to just jack it up, and hope their shooting mojo rises. We need Lowry, Yao, and TMac to be in the game more often, to make plays. Brooks TMac Battier Scola Yao or Lowry TMac Wafer Artest Yao
One thing is for certain. What the HELL was up with the dozen (seemed like it, at least) ticky-tack And 1 calls that Bynum got EVERYTIME he shot the ball from 2 ft?
lol And damn they just merged the other thread where I said "This is the Philly game", now it looks like I repeated myself in the same thread.
Hope Laker fan doesn't fool themselves into thinking their team plays defense now. I can't remember the last time (post-McGrady) when the Rockets missed so many wide open shots. The bricks + stupid turnovers (wtf Scola? Dude couldn't catch a pass today to save his life) + not the usual good defense = being blown out by the Lakers in L.A. Sigh. I obviously want the Rockets to win on Thursday but we gotta be real. There's a good chance the series is over next game. We just don't have enough size against one of the biggest front courts in the league. I just want the Rockets to keep playing hard and not get blown out again. And LOL at the people who think the team is better off without Yao and a healthy McGrady.
Can we all petition to have Cook banned from the team, or at least removed from the playing roster? He shouldn't even be an option, I'd rather have a random bystander playing for us than putting Cook in. To be honest I considered our season to be complete when we won Game 4, so I'm not upset at all. Still I think this game shows why although signing Artest would be great, he is not worth double digit range. At this point of his career he's nothing more than a physical and more streaky Battier, and despite all the maturation he's gone through he's still a nutcase in some aspects of the game. Whoever we bring in should be really special if we want to retain Artest's services, because we really need someone to control him at this point since RA is unwilling to give him the Wafer treatment.
I agree with the others. Not the worst beat down to me. This one's utterly cooked. The superstars are out, all we have is a mix of borderline stars and scrubs and third stringers with little value, against a team full of talent, and then playing on the road? What would you expect? That Game 7 against the Mavs was way way worse than this. And we had T-Mac and Yao back then.
Point. Missed. Entirely. Again, it's not about T Mac, it's about finding better ways to spend the 20+ million they are paying him.
