Who's record do you think is more of a surprise so far this season, the 22-14 record of the Portland Trailblazers, or the losing 14-21 record of the Chicago Bulls? Post your opinions and comments/any other surprises this season. (P.S. if this has already been posted, please lock it. Thx.)
Tough call. As big of a surprise as the Blazers are plenty of people picked the Bulls to win the East. Then again, i'm sure those same people had Portland not even making the playoffs.
So far this season, the Blazers are the bigger surprise vs. the Bulls, no doubt. Anyone who says they thought the Blazers would start 23-14 is lying. Even Sarge said he had no idea they could come this far so quickly. What's amazing is they've followed up a 1-9 stretch by winning 18 of their last 20. Aside from the Rockets (for obvious reasons), IMO, there is no funner team to watch play. It's too bad they played so mediocre during their one nationally televised game. The Bulls slow start isn't a big surprise but few expected it to be a total collapse. In more ways than one, they are a broken team picking up the pieces. It's sad.
The day after the heartbreaking double OT loss to Toronto, Blazers blow out the Nets. They are building character. I'm not sure if we should expect them to slip over the rest of the year. They look like they're headed for the playoffs.
The Bulls are off to a slow start each of the last 2 or 3 seasons. Its expected which is why Chicago fans were surprised Skiles was let go before getting his chance for the annual rebound. Blazers are making noise in the West! Give Nate his coach of the year award already.
