I didn't see any appeal in The Artist. And I usually like artsy academy award type films.

There are a number of nickelodeon movies the kiddos have had me watch that haven't been too bad. Can't name them though. And none are as good as the old time classic Bad News Bears! They just don't make those cussin' drinkin' kid beatin' kid movies like they used to.

    Agreed.

I didn't even like Leo's acting in that one, just Jonah Hills

I am pretty much the opposite of you.

Movies that bore me are horror and thrillers with a lot of twists.

I don't like horror or thrillers. I don't like mindless action and a lot of fight scenes unless it has some sort of particular niche angle.

    I like character driven movies.

Ditto on Cedar Rapids. Love that movie for some reason, even though there's really nothing all that special about it. Also can watch Semi-Pro (Will Ferrell) multiple times and laugh even though it got pretty terrible review IIRC.

    I like character driven movies.

Movies with a political angle usually suck but get hyped because they like to show how important they think they are

    Popular movies I have hated:

    -Birdman
    -12 Years a Slave
    -Crash
    -The Hurt Locker
    -Interstellar
    -Napoleon Dynamite
    -too many more to mention

A trashed movie that I liked:

    -Cloud Atlas

I never trust the reviews on Wachowski films so I watched Jupiter Ascending the other day. That movie was as bad as the reviews made it out to be. It was DREADFULLY bad.

I actually liked V for Vendetta for what it was. Mostly because I have a thing for Natalie Portman.

Crash was horrible. One of the most preachy, cliched movies I've ever seen.

I loved this when I saw it in the theater, and I still love it.

I liked Crash when I first saw it. I had no idea what it was about and had no expectations, so that might have helped. But I can't sit through it anymore.

    What else...

    Dislike:

    Contagion (2011), Cyrus (2010)

Drive was a weird movie. It had three great scenes, and the rest was just awful. All the awkward staring and the terrible soundtrack didn't help.

It was different, but intentionally so. I loved the soundtrack.

Drive was a style piece for the wrong genre. Like trying to cross Taxi Driver with The Fast and the Furious or some ****.

REEAAAAL HUMAN BEING -weird stare- REAAAAAL HUMAN BEEEINNNGGGG -akward silence- AND A REAAAAAAAL HEROOOOOOOOOO

I don't know. I didn't hate it, but I didn't see why some people were fawning all over it.

I hated Seven -- I found this to be one of the most predictable movies I've ever seen, and Brad Pitt's temper tantrums throughout the movie were awful, predictable, and grating. This was the first Brad Pitt movie I saw, and I didn't watch a Brad Pitt movie again for a solid ten years.

I liked Speed Racer, but I was REALLY stoned the one and only time I saw it, so that probably influenced things.

I also liked Death to Smoochie. Damn funny, as I recall.

    1. Anything with Will Smith in it. There might be one exception. Also, Clockwork Orange is not a good movie.

    2. Titus.
