Being an English major, I feel obligated to do something like this every now and then. Examples are taken from actual BBS threads.

A.) could of, would of, should of: "I mean the Kings would of probably given Jason Williams away for free at this point,"

B.) its it's, their they're there, your you're: "Its old news now, but what idiots!" "Who's You're Daddy?!??!"

C.) 's, s, s': "This thread was originally in the Rockets forum, the sneaky administator's moved it to the right forum though..." "My favorite posts are always the one's that come after a player has been out with an injury"

D.) u, ur: "man u guys hav a lot of time on ure hands"

In order of most annoying to least annoying, I would rank them like this:

    A, D, B, C.

I wince angrily every time I read "could of."

The ones I hate the most are "there" and "their". "Their" is used with possession, and "there" is location.

"The Rockets made a good move with there draft picks."

    Uhhhh

Isn't there a difference between spelling issues and flat out using the wrong word?

to --> "I'm going to kill you."
too -> "Please kill me too."

Some of you have mentioned my most hated errors, but I have to add the following to the list :

    usage of affect vs. effect
    definately (instead of "definitely")
Micheal (instead of "Michael" when referring to MJ)

"Won't" and "want" is one. People also spell "there" and "their" when they really mean "they're".

Oh yeah, and this one is for ZRB since he lays down the law on people and they still don't listen to him, "Olajuwan" instead of "Olajuwon"! [IMG]
