Astros at least tried to re-sign Beltran, right? Texans couldn't do much with Mario due to cap situation which baseball doesn't have.

I'm not too hurt about losing Williams. I would have rather kept him than not, but injury bug in the nfl is a very bad thing, will only get wrose. Not worth the money.

Losing Mario sucks, but Carlos Beltran...man that stung. I still hear reports about his wife or sister or whatever wearing his jersey in the offseason, and getting all excited. After that playoff run when he just went bananas, it seemed we had a perennial dynasty to build around. And then he just left, for the Mets of all freakin' teams.

I'm sad to see Mario go, but I'm actually happy for him and wish him well.

Beltran on the other hand I hated and wanted to fail miserably.

    Beltran, no contest.

We went on an epic ride on his back, and Scott Boras used us afterwards.

Mario's best season was over 3 years ago, and his agent was plain as day that he was gone.

Beltran was always NY-bound, but still tried to play Hou as saps.

Williams is worse because the MLB has no cap and that's stupid.

I want Beltran to get a career ending injury.

I don't follow the NFL much, so Williams gets a pass.

actually I don't watch the MLB at all, but that one WS run was a fun season to hop on the bandwagon.

It is amazing that Carlos Beltran is the answer, despite only a half season in Houston.

The difference is, the Astros made a strong push to retain Beltran, while the Texans were never in a position to even make Mario a competitive offer.

Carlos Beltran hurt more. Only because we thought we had a good chance of bringing him back, but he played us. No CAP in baseball. We didn't stand a chance to bring back Mario. No $$$ in the NFL to spend freely like MLB.

    They both suck.

I predict Mario's career will tailspin into oblivion. Not only is he injury-prone, but he is a better 3-4 outside linebacker than he is a 4-3 defensive end. Buffalo is switching back to a 4-3 for next season.

This isnt even close. Anyone who voted Mario on there is either clueless or trying to be funny.

    The situations are completely different.

We had no money to pay Mario. He deserves a great contract and he got it.

Carlos, on the other hand, used the Astros to get his contract from the Mets.

Beltran. Texans have fostered a great system and mentality of drafting good picks and developing them into talent. The defense is no longer anchored around Mario and therefore he can be replaced.

Beltran on the other hand left us with so many unfulfilled hopes and dreams - and now we're in the AL. (still upset about this)

Beltran. I never saw it coming, and I couldn't believe he left us for the damn Mets!

Actually losing Terrence Williams through waivers is much worse.
