Wouldn't the Kemah boardwalk be a better option of the two? More restaurant selections, a few more rides and games, and you don't have to pay to step on the boardwalk.
I personally have liked Kemah better. I can see Pleasure being a good option for Kids, but for a whole family, Kemah is better because it offers more.
My advice is stay the hell away from Galveston tonight/tomorrow. Went to a friends beach house today on the west end. It took 2 hours each way...from Clear Lake! The traffic was horrendous. Seems the entire city of Houston decided to visit the island this weekend.
Went to to pleasure pier in the morning and got the $39 per ticket for all three kemah, aquarium, and pleasure pier for the whole weekend. I enjoyed pleasure pier the most. The rides were just better. No traffic and no lines but that was at 10 am
No kidding? Place on Tiki? My wife and I were just driving through those areas yesterday---Tiki, Bayou Vista, Flamingo Isles---wishing we could afford to live there (or tolerate the drive; it's not exactly in the middle of Jobs Central). And you own a house there? As my sister would have said when we were kids: "I HAY-choo." (Translation: "I hate you.")
It's my accountant's spot, actuallly. My family stays here a ton though. There's pictures of my fam up all over the place. Sitting underneath the house right now on the deck by the canal watching playoff hoops with my kids.
