Tech Gurus, what is a good network switch? Home will have google wifi for devices (3 phones, 1 ipad, 1 Smart TV) and smart home items (2 Nests, 2 August Smart locks, 1 echo show, 2 echos, 2 dots) Ethernet plugged items will be the smart TVs (3) , the google wifi router + 2 base stations, 1 smarthings HUB and my gaming computers (2). Do I need managed or unmanaged?
This should do it. 16 port, unmanaged. I have good experience iwth the prosafe stuff from Netgear. https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Ethernet-Unmanaged-Protection-GS116NA/dp/B00023DRLO There's also a "managed" version for home/small business use. http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/datasheet/en/ProSAFE_Web_Managed_Switches_DS.pdf
I'm not savvy with needing a switch over a plain ol router. Wouldn't something like a Netgear Orbi work for what's needed?
