Yeah.. THEY SUCK! loser 1 - "Do you think Luis Scola has a chance for ROY?" loser 2 - "No, not a chance.. Durant --- but he'll make All Rookie 1st team, as a 32-year old" *loser 1 cuts him off* loser 1 - "27" loser 2 - "Oh, 27.. But great player." loser 1 - "Do you think Adelman has chance for COY?" loser 2 - "No, no way" *long pause* *more pause* loser 2 - "Well I think Byron Scott has a shot, or Doc Rivers - with all the changes that happened there, but Byron Scott can probably wrap it up- I mean the Hornets are virtually the same team as last year(and look what they've done!)" worst broadcasters ever!!
I would have to agree with this... one thing about league pass is we get to experience them all. As much as Bill and Bull/Clyde are homers they are at least educated about the teams we play.
BTW, I forgot to tell you guys yesterday, but you really had no chance last night. See, I wore my lucky boxers AND my lucky shirt. When I wear just one of them, the Nugs only win 65% of the time. When I wear them both, we win 95% of the time. It's pretty fool-proof, and I save the combo for special occasions. To make it up to you, I shall wear the combo for the Rockets once in the playoffs.
The Cavs radio team is worse... they are practically impossible to listen to they are so up LeBron's rear. But I would call their tv broadcasters only a distant third to the other two.
I think that Bill and Clyde are among the few that could do national games pretty well. Bill's got some strange regional accent I can't quite pin down - it's almost Appalachian, but despite this, he still would translate well. Drexler is all about being a known personality and is enthusiastic about the home team - which is needed for the Rox network - Walton-lite. The only other TV guys I've heard that could translate well into National coverage of any team are obviously the Nets/Knicks guys, who do actually do major network national games, both college and pro. Heinson, for all the flak he's gotten, used to to the NBA games on CBS way back, in the 70s or 80s. The worst was probably Bill Russell doing games on CBS. Some people don't like Hubie, but he's alright.
Unless Clyde has improved about 2000% from that last game I heard him do, he can't even do local games pretty well, let alone national games. Bull is 100x the play by play guy that Clyde is.
Whoever made that chart must really hate Tommy Heinsohn. Also I don't seen any of the T-Wolves announcers listed? You would figure at least former Rocket Jim Petersen would get a mention.

The thing about Clyde is that he doesn't try... Everyone knows who he is and he knows everyone... He's like the Walt Clyde Frazier of Knicksland for the Rockets... It's about his personality and pedigree. I think that Drexler could be of national quality if he tried, but he doesn't have to, so we'll probably never see that. But he is a lot more personable and has a not-trying charisma that the rest of the drab/provincial/homerism color guys in the rest of the league don't. You can tell it's Clyde by hearing him, and that is important during a game. I mean, Bill Walton doesn't get by on absolute knowledge, he just gets into the pizazz of just spewing stuff out and being a recognizable voice and personality; Clyde has that, but he hasn't cultivated it because of his Mr. Smooth image.
