It looks like pretty much everyone played worse in the playoffs except asik and garcia. I remember very few players actually up their PER in the playoffs one of them was hakeem. <table > <tr ><th>Player</th><th>Reg</th><th>Playoffs</th><th>Diff</th></tr> <tr><td>Donatas Motiejunas</td><td>12.2</td><td>54.8</td><td>42.6</td></tr> <tr><td>Aaron Brooks</td><td>5.6</td><td>11.7</td><td>6.1</td></tr> <tr><td>Francisco Garcia</td><td>12.2</td><td>14.7</td><td>2.5</td></tr> <tr><td>Omer Asik</td><td>14.9</td><td>17</td><td>2.1</td></tr> <tr><td>Patrick Beverley</td><td>15.4</td><td>14.7</td><td>-0.7</td></tr> <tr><td>Carlos Delfino</td><td>13.3</td><td>11.8</td><td>-1.5</td></tr> <tr><td>Chandler Parsons</td><td>15.3</td><td>13.5</td><td>-1.8</td></tr> <tr><td>James Harden</td><td>22.9</td><td>20.7</td><td>-2.2</td></tr> <tr><td>Greg Smith</td><td>16.1</td><td>13.2</td><td>-2.9</td></tr> <tr><td>Terrence Jones</td><td>17.1</td><td>10.8</td><td>-6.3</td></tr> <tr><td>Jeremy Lin</td><td>14.9</td><td>-0.7</td><td>-15.6</td></tr> <tr><td>James Anderson</td><td>14.2</td><td>-1.7</td><td>-15.9</td></tr> </table>
Yeah, that's to be expected. PER is offense-slanted, and usually offense will take a hit when you're playing stiffer competition who can fully scout you and prepare for you.
Wow! D-Mo is our playoff superstar! Again, another completely useless stat when you have a playoff sample size of 6 games. Holds no weight and shouldnt even be looked at in this context. Throw it away!
D-mo played a grand total of 5 minutes in the playoffs, in garbage time. It doesn't even make sense to comment on his PER.
if you get past the novel i wrote at the beginning of the thread, you can see how most of the all-time greats did in terms of their playoff PER vs regular season PER somewhere in this thread. hakeem is one of the better ones. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=218892
