Players that rely heavily on the whistle traditionally struggle in the playoffs when teams lock in. DD
I checked this out right after the trade. Yea quite concerning. The one umber that sticks out is even his free throw percentage drops 4 to 5 points. No one is defending. Just you and 15 feet to the basket. All mental and his performance degrades. Then he posts COREY BREWER 3 point percentages? YIKES. I hope he shuts me up. But Lou has FAR from impressed me.
I still don't think getting Lou was all that great - I mean getting rid of Brewer was - but we didn't need Lou - he is redundant - and he changes other players roles a bit like Gordons...who were rolling. I would have preferred another big for Brewer, even someone like Jordan Hill, just a journeyman in a position of need instead of another SG/PG combo shooter who we have covered in spades. DD
I wonder if this is a case of metrics saying the trade was good? No human factor included. On paper his scoring looks good. But not if his scoring comes in just one or two games or not when it is crucial.
The odds of Lou, Gordon, Ariza and Anderson all being cold in the playoffs is extremely low. Lou adds value automatically by JUST being on the floor.
****. I remember thinking this at the time of the trade.... Our team is built for playoff chokers. We might just give WB the heroic story he needs
Very true. No doubt. I just cant shake this great feeling that I have about lou for this series. Ill eat crow if im wrong but he is in dantonis system now and I think he is gonna get some open shots and be $$$ from 3 this series.
He has not played playoff games next to harden in dantonis system before. We wont ask lou to create very much. We will ask lou to be $ from 3 when he inevitably gets left open. I will definitely own it if im wrong but I got a really good feeling...
I really hope he comes through in the playoffs. It really seems like he shrinks in big games unless it's garbage time
Just a few weeks ago he destroyed OKC in a big, nationally televised game. It was his biggest game of the year. Versus OKC -- March 26th, 2017 31 pts 11-15 FGs 7-8 3s We can say, "Yeah, but that wasn't the playoffs." But it was OKC.
Everybody playoffs' numbers are down across the board with the exception of harden. Harden is the only one that put up the same numbers.
Trade him while you still have time...His off game is bad and you cant use him for defense...so if he cant shoot, he's trash lol
I guess you've never heard of savage mode. It didn't exist back then. Game slows down! Fouls aren't called as often! Teams are more prepared! It doesn't matter. This team is better.
I hope so. But I just have not seen him all that comfy as a catch and shoot 3 guy. Seems like he likes to shoot 2's off the dribble.
When things start to tighten up he disappears. The best games he's had as a rocket where against garbage teams. Hopefully this doesn't carryover into the playoffs where there aren't any garbage teams to feast off on.
His best year was in Toronto and he was poop in the play-offs, but let's just wait and see. My guess is if he does well we might extend him, if not, then it was a nice half year rental. No big deal.
