It's looking increasingly like Dallas will be locked into the #3 seed by the time the Rockets and New Orleans play Dallas...so you could probably project Dallas loses those 2 games to end the season. Dallas is 2.5 behind LAL and 3 ahead of OKC.
Um, there was never any real chase to begin with ... only in the minds of dreamers were we close to a playoff spot.
Anybody know who owns the tie breaker of NO vs. HOU? If it's NO, then yeah this is gonna be tough for the Rockets. The reason why there might still be a chance is that NO has a few tough games coming up and not to mention one against HOU. No way the Rockets can catch Memphis, but there is always New Orleans to leapfrog.
If we beat NO Wednesday then it will be tied 2-2 i don't know who has the better % against the division.

All tie-breakers have been finalized. We only have the tiebreaker against the Grizzlies (3-1, H2H record). Hornets, even if we tie the series and they lose the rest of their remaining division games, have a better division record. If somehow Grizzlies, Hornets and Rockets were to end in a 3-way tie. MEM: 1-3 vs HOU, 1-2 vs NO (2-5 w/ 1 game remaining vs NO) NO: 2-1 vs HOU, 2-1 vs MEM (4-2 w/ 2 games remaining vs NO, HOU) HOU: 3-1 vs MEM, 1-2 vs NO (4-3 w/ 1 game remaining vs NO) If Rockets & Grizzlies both beat NO, final records would be: MEM: 3-5 NO: 4-4 HOU: 5-3 Rockets would win tiebreaker.
It would be so sad if the rockets dont make the playoffs this year, mostly because of how this group of players has played over the last 10-15 games or so. Playing with lots of heart and just confidence is so high, I could really see us doing damage in the playoffs, alas we need NOH to lose 3 out of 5
The dust has settled and the rockets are the onlt team left thats not eliminated but also not in the playoffs.. we have won that battle,, but we still gotta win the war
The Clippers beat OKC last night at home and looked good. They have 2 games left with Memphis. Our only hope is they play well and win 1 or both of those games. On the other hand, the Rockets have the Clippers at home too. I'm thinking LAC will have a decent shot at a win when Memphis comes to LA. Memphis would then need to lose to NO and Por as well with the Rockets winning out.
NOH remaining games Hou Home Phx Home Mem Away Uta Home Dal Away We win the next game and we go 2 behind them and put more pressure on them? If we win the next game do we have the tiebreak? If Dallas beats Port, they go 1.5 behind LA and still challenge for second. So basically if Hou Mem and Dal win, do we still get in?
Are you really that lazy to not look like 5 posts above this one. This has been discussed a lot in this thread, but no, we do not have the tiebreak against New Orleans and we won't even if we beat them.
It's fun watching this team battle, really fighting to stay alive. But, NO and Memphis are just playing to good, we can't catch them.
