Nothing shocking here... The easiest shots near the basket - and the easiest shots that garner 3 points... Those should be the shots taken with the greatest frequency - no argument here... the issue is to what degree other (incl mid range) shots should be taken... half as often? 25%? 10%? ...or crazy idea - howabout you take what the defense gives you... I'd rather take an open mid range shot than a contested 3...
I just looked, but to me it looks like right there at the end Ja Morant just torched the rockets with some 3's, and they look like they forgot how to play basketball or defense. I guess they had a bad night again. Then you wonder why are the grizzles closing in on all these wins, and now are the 8th seed. Ja Morant looks like the real deal. Brooks too. But you see rockets losing against these bottom dweller teams like okc and memphis, you wonder if they even get out of the first round this year. I guess they will figure it out after the allstar break. Who knows. Really only half a game back from Clippers, Rockets have it, i just think right now there gonna see the league really go at them. I mean they get hyped now because the rockets are top team, so every city is hype to play houston, just like when GSW use to come to town. Maybe houston cant be that 2nd seed juggernaut you thought they be that separate them from all the others. Its mainly because there team is not really as deep as you thought it was, or its obvious Harden/Westbrook after that you dont have any players that can really support them as a leader its a dead drop off just like Barkley said.
The area you're referring to is the wing. The whole arc is 23 feet 9 inches away from the basket. The corners are shorter at 22 feet. Statistically, the wing 3s are the lowest % shot. My guess is that it could be due to the angle. Despite the stats, our guys love shooting at this area(Harden, Mclemore, Gordon)
