Assuming we have $20m in cap space because we trade Robinson before striking out on Howard, we have enough cash to do both a Plan C and a Plan D. Say, Iguodala and Jefferson, or something.
I just realized they'd be stuck with Paul, Nash, and Blake at PG. Man that team is terrible, they need to unload Nash and Artest.
He's not the only one: Bosh Melo Wade Amar'e Z-Bo Gasol Kobe Gay (PO) Duncan Dirk And that's excluding the restricted free agents like; Cousins, George, Monroe, and others. It's not do or die this offseason, that's the good thing about being in our position.
The clippers can't sign Dwight because of capspace so why not help them out by taking Blake Griffin and an expiring for some picks and a young cheap asset besides parsons. Then they can still trade jordan for garnet and rivers.
They'd still be in the luxury tax territory with Gasol. They won't compete in the West next year with Nash, Gasol, & Kobe for only a few months. They'll either trade Gasol or amnesty him.
Stand pat. Get Kevin Love. If our players continue to develop then Lin Harden Parsons Love Asik is a contender. But if Morey doesnt do anything get ready for; MOREY MISSES OUT ON PAUL/DWIGHT, TOP 5 BLUNDERS OF ALL TIME? ANOTHER FREEAGENCY HIT AND MISS FOR THE SULTAN OF STATS. ITS CAUSE PLAYERS DONT LIKE HIM CAUSE HE LIKES NUMBERS. I'D RATHER SIGN PAUL MILLSAP TO THE MAX SO WE CAN BE 2ND ROUND CANNON FODDER FOREVER. I'M SURE HAWKS FANS LOVED HAVING THEIR CEILING PLACED ON THE 2ND FREAKING ROUND. ALL DEM 2ND ROUND BANNERS YUMMMMAY -therealskipbayless
Ha. Some people on this board. Young all stars don't get traded for nothing; especially if they can afford them. So we're not gonna land aldridge or love in a trade this year. Standing pat could be risky, we could end up missing the playoffs for a variety of reasons (injury, competing teams improving) and that could affect our attractiveness. Just like how some of our players' value are at a high right now, so is houstons situation for free agents. If we don't get Howard, and I do think it's looking like we won't now, I just hope the player we sign will not be overpaid or too many years offered.
There really should have been a "none of the above" option, because IMO every single one of those options are terrible.
If you don't get Paul or Dwight, just wait. We're already a playoff team, not to mention we don't know what could be available come the trade deadline.
