Not sure what happened but I do know that **** wasn't even remotely funny to me until after we secured the win.
I'm very surprised that the player with the highest IQ on the team made such a silly mistake. It was sadly unbelievable. I'm sure Tucker will show much better focus against the Raptors. We need big games from Rivers, EG and him to have a chance against the Raptors. Harden can't do everything on his own. Go Houston Rockets!
Without that play the ending wouldn’t have been nearly as exciting as it was. Harden makes a defensive play, gets a steal in the final seconds, goes coast to coast for the emphatic dunk to seal the game and reach 61 points. He definitely changed the minds of some voters who had Giannis as MVP thus far, he won some more casual fans and changed the minds of some of his critics/haters with tonight’s performance... especially with that finish. Tucker should be getting props.
4. EG inbounding the ball in late game situations where all attention is on Harden who is our best free throw shooter. EG should have been the one relieving pressure from Harden and providing another option to pass the ball to. Harden, Tucker, EG, Paul, and Capela shouldn’t be making late game mistakes as they are veterans and last years core who are the ones playing in tough last min games. .
Not sure WTH happened to Tucker in the last 3 min. Foul on 3 pts shot (costly). Stupid and1 foul. Stupid staring at the ball. Almost threw the ball in the backcourt. That's 8 points turnaround there.
I’m pretty sure PJ thought that EG was NOT inbounding the ball but rather throwing it for someone else to come inbound it, because like @Voltik said, EG shouldn’t be inbounding. Really stupid either way.
Honestly my dudes....I do this all the timet in 2k just so I can keep things interesting. I like trying for the game winning shot.
if we gonna look at the positive impact of this play this definitely helps hardens MVP case. i wonder what really causes that blooper though. maybe he really needs rest.
None of it makes sense, not even Mike's explanation. Yeah, that's typically how you inbound the ball Mike. From out of bounds! Baseline or side. (Tucker was not out of bounds. Edit: He stepped out but only after he watched Eric toss it in & did nothing.) Well obviously. But why? I mean, it's not as if PJ had back turned and Eric threw it in. He's right there with Eric, looking at Eric as Eric throws it in.
Ok looking at it again, I think he must have assumed Harden was going to come get it. He must have thought he was right there or something, it's just crazy.
I thought that to after I calmed down. PJ knew that his head was not in the game for whatever reason. I don’t think he wanted to get fouled and have the pressure of having to shoot free throws like he had to in the Brooklyn game. I think he wanted Harden to come and get the ball too. PJ was obviously scared of the ball at that moment. That’s the only rational reason I can come up with.
A complete lack of confidence there. Focusing on the mental aspect is very important before and after every game. I'm still surprised why the Rockets haven't hired an experienced sports psychologist with basketball experience. I believe Dallas has had one for a long time.
lol y'all bring up a good point. The way gordon passed it makes it seem like they rolling the ball down to preserve the clock to make a 2-for-1 opportunity. Like how they do for cp. So I guess it threw off Tucker? But still, everyone in that game should know the situation being we were up 3 ... Shrugs. I'm confused by all involved (gordon, tucker, and vonleh).
