Guess what ? Dropping a game or two in the regular season is OK Seeding is important . It’s not as important as being healthy and well rested for the playoffs. Pj is a tank and so is James and we should be praising them to the stars and thanking God that they are so durable lol ..... but that doesn’t mean we should abuse that As long as you aren’t the 7/8 seed then it’s pretty much irrelevant. HC is nice , but is Toyota center that big of an advantage? I was a rowdy for a couple of years , TC doesn’t get hyped until the conference finals. Also by playing PJ so much you are taking away developmental minutes for guys who may have to step up if injured . Imagine PJ goes down or has to miss a game in the playoffs .... who are you more confident in stepping up , a Gary Clark that plays 7 minutes per game and only gets real time if there is an injury , or a Gary Clark that has had a consistent role all season and has had consistent minutes and reps vs nba competition ? It’s a no brainer . Mike has gotten a little better at this over the years , but in the SAS series in 16-17 when nene went down , he cut the rotation vs playing Harrell. Our “load management “ and player development is years behind at this point . We’ve simply been relying on harden and pj to carry us to wins. It will have to stop at some point , I hope it’s voluntary vs being forced when one of them gets injured
We need to bring back Tarik Black. We need a real big when Clinton and chandler aren’t playing s poetle was punk in his last night. Is there any chance for nene to play this season?
Playing Clark is not the solution, he was complete ass last night. And neither Thabo nor Hartenstein can play the 4. Not even sure that Thabo could efficiently play 3 either, looks washed up.
If the narrative is old... its cause its been going on forever and never gets corrected... and before PJ it was Ariza... We gamble every year on not having injuries - so MDA can stay in his 'comfort zone'... and every year we have detrimental injuries - and no backup plan... and we end up running a 7 man rotation or signing a guy off his couch to come in and log noteworthy minutes. Can we just play it smart and try to develop our bench while not runnin our starters into the ground?
and...................defence these days get it easy, they don't cover the players full court and in a switching defence, there isn't much movement at all. You just defend the closest man to you
He barely gets rebounds. stop over rating minutes on the court, only fans worry about it because the Spurs use to manage their players.......players don't care
games faster also sometimes means more times to rest, especially if Westbrook and Harden are on a fast break getting shots up quickly. Tucker doesn't have to run down the court wasting energy
This team needs to look at what literally every other contender is doing in the league right now and that's load managing their starters. Seeding is great and all, especially in the west but every playoffs we've ran into injuries in the later rounds. If load management supposedly prevents that, I'd rather take the latter and have a healthy team the entire playoffs run, then at least there are no excuses.
Is anyone else to the point where they can not stand Dantoni. He's just too damn stubborn man. Have the guts to tell PJ and James that we are cutting down your minutes.
him barely getting rebounds is irrelevant...he’s still battling down there trying to get them or boxing out so that someone else can funny how u just glossed over how he always guards the best player funny how u glossed over that he’s 34 Is that u Thibs?
MDA not utilizing his bench is infuriating. And Tilman not authorizing spending to add to the bench is infuriating. Both are to blame.
got to get players to agree to come to houston first. Can't just spend endless amounts of money. there is a cap and we are a luxury tax team
