Star Pizza! And maybe Double Dave's or the Pizza Inn on Mangum Rd, though I haven't been to either in a really long time.
Actually I just did a search on Yelp for pizza buffets in Houston. You may want to check one out on that list: http://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc=pizza+buffet&find_loc=Houston,+TX&ns=1&ls=65da4cb5ec34b456
CiCis! But seriously, Double Dave's is pretty good buffet. They normally have daily lunch buffet, and dinner buffet a couple times a week (you can check their website).
The one in Clear Lake (off El Dorado I think - haven't been in about 8 years) is great. Most others are crappy.
The one that used to be in Mo. City was very good. They would make buffet pizzas on request. Pizza Hut is trash. Will never go there again in my life.
This thread brings back memories... used to go HAM at CiCi's for 5 bucks back in the college days. These days, I don't get the point of pizza buffets anymore... is it just for the variety? With the $5 carry-out deals at various places, it's doubtful anyone could eat more pizza for less $ at a buffet.
My greatest pizza buffet memories are of the Pizza Inn in Dickinson. Supposedly even then Inn had "glue" cheese, but their table top ms. pacman game edged them over the Hut across the freeway. Just added something to the magic. Cici's buffet was acceptable when they were $2.99, provided you had smoked some drugs prior. Gattis is a half step above in quality, but their BBQ chicken pizza was just a home run combo. Onions, & I think there was even cilantro on that one? Do they still make that btw? It's been years. Double daves, still not really high quality pizza, but you need to leave their pizza alone anyway- just lurk until they bring out a fresh bin of pizza rolls, then take them all back to your table. Hot, fresh, soft bread, perfect proportions inside. Dip them in dressing or marinara sauce, put a couple dozen in your wife's oversized purse (for later). Highly recommended.
Don't go on a Wednesday if you want water. I did a few years ago and found out they don't serve water on Wednesdays... "No Water Wednesdays"
