That story made me well up a bit... but I'd never admit it. :(

I couldn't imagine hearing my own child say that.

There's just no guarantees of another day, is there...This shows the brave spirit of young people. She was still looking forward to the next thing. A story like this is very sad, but it can teach people how to live properly and appreciate whats important. I'm sure having that effect on others would mean a lot to the parents.

It shouldn't take stories like this to make you appreciate your family and your life. But it sure is a good reminder. So sad.

This is what I posted in the other thread....

That is a very sad story. What makes it the worst, in my opinion, is that the last actual wish does nothing but highlight the innocence of childhood, thus making us (rightly) feel that her time came MUCH too soon.

Sad story, of course, but mad props to Pixar for listening to, and granting, the request.

I'm more impressed that the request got to the right people, what with red tape being what it is. Or maybe I'm just ignorant to things like this happening.

All the same, it's a tragic story, and Pixar deserves the good press they're getting for putting a bright spot into such a tragic event.

It's also cool that Pixar refused to comment on the story or name the employee that went to the house. Really shows that they did not do this for the publicity at all.

What a story. It shows us all life is not as long as we think it is. And that everything can be taking away very quick. Major Props to Pixar, Great Movies and Great People. :(

Thanks for posting that article. Felt really sad after reading the story, but thinking about there are positives in that story too - against the odds, the girl fought death off long enough to see the movie and Pixar despite being a company whose first job is to make money, went out of their way to fulfill the girl's last wish. Even more impressive, it seems they aren't doing this as some cheap publicity stunt, and declining to comment on the matter. Very classy.

Pixar is still a pretty small shop, surprisingly, and I do believe their good intentions here. I'm in their area, and had no clue about this story until Clutchfans.

Poor girl. That 94 inches does make sense. :( +
