There's a lot of truth in this post. The thing is the Rockets don't have to rely on Josh Smith. So the hope is we only utilize him as a finisher around the basket / garbage man / fast break option. If he refuses to fall in line then Mchale needs to cut his mins. If that doesn't reach him then Morey would cut him if he becomes a cancer.
The Pistons sure knew what they were doing, and now they are laughing at the sucker who picked him up.
Another game, another blowout for the Pistons. but i want to see them against some better Western teams, but it is evident how much J Smoove was holding back this team
Why do you need to see that? They aren't good without Josh Smith, but they did improve from terrible to become mediocre. His on-court mistakes did hurt them a lot.
Good for them. I still prefer seeing Josh on the court rather than Black, and hopefully at a minimal Dorsey.
Eh, Pston playing against some crappy teams. I want to see them play some .500 ball and get some Ws before I hop onto the bandwagon.
Steve Francis at the 4? As has been stated, I'm in the camp that this cut helped both teams. He was a bad signing by the pistons and created a muddied offensive situation with a glut at the four. Now there is clarity in role's and a more efficient ball handler initiating. Josh Smith will always be the uber talent that it never clicked for. Every time you see him drive to finish it looks shaky - like it's the first time he's done that move. Looks like he's just never put in the time to refine his shots and improve his skill. However, as a backup four to help push tempo and provide a defensive upgrade at a $2M contract - it's a no-brainer. You work him into the flow. Ask him to do very little other than hustle and play d - and hope the presence of Dwight helps him accept that role. If not - seeya.
But what do you do when TJones is back does Jsmith move to the 4th big spot? Because he is not as good as DHo, TJo or Dmo. DD
