Idk about starting, but Canaan certainly should be in the rotation. Best shooter we have on this team and spaces the floor well, opening up things for other guys.
What in the "@$&?!$ did Canaan do to get demoted to the point of not playing. Drexler said he was going to be an all star and he hurts his ankle and we never see him again. He may not be the answer, but for the sanity of the Houston fans please please please start him!!!!!!!!
This reminds me when we started both Battier and Ariza, two guys who couldn't create their own shots. Then we got Martin and inserted him in the lineup and the offense flowed.
Some people have to wait until disaster strikes to figure out what this team needs. Where were you guys when I was calling for Canaan to get all Harden's bench minutes over Ish Smith and everybody else during training camp?
Alexey has been terrible, and no, I am not impressed with garbage time minutes against a team's third string.
YES. Bench Beverly!! In terms of any offensive contribution/Impact, Beverly might be the worst starting PG in the NBA.
From what I remember he's alright..... The thing with Canaan is that he forces the opposing guard to guard him... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/CMU6TQDIpSA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> .....could have used some of this tonight.
That off the ball cut, slashing to the basket. That's something Beverley couldn't even dream of doing. Beating his man off the dribble and taking it to the rack without a pick. That's something no one on this team can do other than Harden. What he does at 1:14 in that video is a thing of beauty. This team has some serious chemistry and personnel "fit" issues. It's interesting that we were the most competitive with the Warriors when Canaan was starting and Papa was our back-up 4. Dwight (the uninjured and inspired version), TJones coming back, the addition of Brewer, and another competent PG (not Bev) would have done this team wonders. We'd probably be right up there as one of the best teams in the league right now. Instead we wrecked our own chemistry. Morey is great, but he dun goof'd.
Morey id probably worries someone else will see his potential and aign him to a decent contract. We're trying to remain flexible remember?
Is that true?? Do you have any specific evidence/instances you can recall? I don't really remember, so I'm definitely interested in your thoughts.
