As John Hinkley said to OJ Simpson, "it takes a stalker to know a stalker."

The two soap operas that are value for your money on this board:

    i) The Da Dakota - Sam Fisher name calling... just like another episode of The Bold and The Beautiful :D :D :D

ii) The 'this scrub can be like this All Star' comparison. I especially disagree with you guys... Steve Novak cannot become like Peja Stojakovic... Steve Novak can become like... Rasheed Wallace :D :D :D

All jokes aside. Whatever happens, if Steve Novak works hard to CONSTANTLY IMPROVE and DEVELOP himself, then I am certain he will have a place with us for a long time to come.

Was that all preseason film? Is he still a Rocket? Some of those could have looked good in regular season and post season games had he not been buried in Jeff Van Dummy's A$$ errr dog house.

And Matt Bullard was a valuable part of Rocket teams for years. Heck, his end of career job where he rode the pine until final seconds and came on the court to take the end bounds and get fouled or threw the baseball desparation pass to try for a buzzer-beater was the greatest job in the entire NBA.

I don't know how Peja/Novak managed to get into JVG's doghouse, I mean he was only utterly useless in every possible way, was not as good as advertised on offense, was hesitant to shoot, (because he) could not get his shot off vs. taller players, and managed to be the single worst defensive PF in the NBA, as well as the pound for pound weakest rebounder in the league. (How does a 6-10 PF and manage to play 20 minutes in an NBA game and not record a single rebound? Ask Steve Novak!)

The nerve of JVG not playing him....damn. FIRE JVG  11!!!!111!!!!ELEVENEXCLAMATIONPOINTS!!

Steve Novak sucked last season. There is no doubt. Like you pointed out, he is weak, can not defend well, can not rebound well. He will need work harder in the offseason to address those issues. I also think those are things can be addressed. I am sure you remember how weak Yao was in his first season, look at his body now.

I don't think it is fair to blame JVG for his lack of playing time. He actually tried to start him in the game against Suns.

On the other hand, Peja did not play at all star level first year coming into the league either. Will Novak achieve what Peja achieved? He himself holds the answer-- can he work hard enough to overcome his physical limitation? Does he has the drive to continue improve himself? Only time will tell. However I do believe the new system is more favorable for Novak, he may not become an all star like Peja, but I do think this system can help him to develop into Peja LIKE player.

    major league LOL

That is almost exactly waht I thought when I read that.

hey SJC, want us to pull out all your stalker moments??

does the name MACBETH ring a bell?

At least Sam Fisher has a halfway decent reason for his stalking, what was yours??

i think you can blame jvg. he started novak after him only playing garbage time. you have to develop a player with quality minutes before you can expect him to produce as a starter. jvg is an idiot in that regard. jvg sucks!

Please go ahead. Especially the "Hey everybody" thread in which MacBeth makes a grand announcement of his return is always worth a read.

    Yes, sure.

And what would that be?

My reason was that it amused me that people would actually believe the things MacBeth was inventing and he even managed to create a little group of followers. When some guy comes along, keeps inventing stories to make himself an online cult hero, and people actually go "wow, I wanna be like him, he's my idol, he is a supermodel professor who dates pornstars", it sort of insults my ability to see through bull**** to not call it when I see it. I wasn't the only one who saw from the beginning that it was all a load of BS...I believe that, e.g., Clutch and rimbaud were aware of it pretty much from the beginning as well.

Anyway, if you think it would have been better to just watch and stand by and see a growing number of people believe stuff from MacBeth like

without commenting, you are certainly entitled to that opinion :).

A main difference between SamFisher and myself, though, is that I did not stoop down to a level of calling MacBeth names in a primitive fashion - I did simply burst his bubble, nothing else. SamFisher, on the other hand, resorts to primitive personal attacks and name-calling against DaDakota (who has never addressed SamFisher in similarly offensive fashion) and others, such as this:

And that was only one of 164 posts in which SamFisher attacked DaDakota one way or another.

Now, R2K, if that is what you want to condone and associate yourself with, that is your prerogative. It would be a pity, though, because I only know you as a very nice fellow and a great resource to the board.

My own memories of the past four years are that when JVG got his hands on someone with the ability to play some portion of the game called basketball, he would then immediately strip them down mentally like the military does at boot camp, and then tell them they were going to do it exactly and only the way he told them to do it. They were going to be part of a team that implemented his system and his system alone. They were like deer in headlights out on the floor.

And they were made to play like robots with no enthusiasm or inspiration. Previously, Novak played in what looked like a motion offense. So did Luther. So did Vspan. People actually moved around. It's called trying to get away from the defender. And Gundy found that type of offense to be offensive.

So many times I wondered why when our guys ran at a shooter, he would wait and step around the D and dribble in and pop a shot. Simple move. I think they even teach it in high school. And then I would watch video of our players in their previous lives doing the same move at other teams or in college. But when they joined the Gundy patrol all of a sudden they forgot how to do just such a high school level skill. Instead they would stop and hold and then pass. Luther used to drive to the hoop and dunk at Illinois.

I could go on and I am sure someone may flame me. But I think many of these guys are going to recognize the things Adelman wants them to do and they will be reminded of their former coaches and the skills they used to have.

Things will be better. It will remind us all of the game we learned as children and enjoyed playing. We called it fun. Will anyone turn into an all-star? Probably not. But as DD says we can hope.

I dont associate myself with any group, except as a fan of this team.

I *do* know that this board could use some real discussion and I tend to agree with the sentiment expressed by DoD, NIKE, SHerlock and the others that have called out Dak on his posts.

If you are asking if I think SamFisher's style of calling him out is the way I would go about it, then no...I tend not to like being confrontational.

    but honestly

There is very little difference in my eyes between what SF is doing and your seeming infatuation with MB.
You went WAY above and beyond what would have been required to show him as a poseur....you accomplished it easily....and at that point I figured it would be over....but it didnt.

You then went ON and ON and ON and ON and ON.

I dont consider that any less classless than what SF does when he is on a mission to try to make someone look stupid.

therefore, I dont see as you have the moral high ground to be calling him out on it.

if that pisses you off, then Im sorry, but that is how I see it.

R2K, while I generally agree with you on this. I don't think it is fair to compare stalking MacBeth with stalking DD. DD is just a fan who likes to mouth off his opinions without much factual support. There are plenty of posters here that do that. Why single him out? MacBeth, on the other hand, made things up to get people's attention to himself. That's lightyears of difference.

It doesn't piss me off, but you are wrong. The thread that sealed it was MacBeth's "Hey everybody" thread - when that thread was started, there were still plenty of people believing his outrageous stories. That thread, in which he was exposed (and more people participated in doing this, including Clutch) went on for like 21 pages or so. After that thread, he was gone, and it was over. There were some occasional references to MacBeth and that thread later, but it was usually someone else bringing it up (like in this thread, you were the one bringing up MacBeth). So if you say "You then went ON and ON and ON and ON and ON", if you are referring to that one thread (which happened in a few days), you are right, but hey, if that rubbed you the wrong way... *shrug*. Other than that thread, your claim that I "went ON and ON and ON and ON and ON" is factually incorrect.

Thanks. Needless to say, I agree ;).

i can't believe i read almost 6 pages through this thread :( that shows you how much i'm bored. getting back to the topic, i really just hope he's able to contribute to this team. the worst thing i can see is us letting him go and him signing on another team and having a prosperous future therefore showing us that we wasted a pick on him. hopefully he'll produce and play if not then best wishes to him. dd and samfisher are hilarious, its like they're rivals but only on the intra web.
