More Gamescom pictures! http://imgur.com/a/xKlLl just pure lol @ the 14 levels of gems. inventory management will be FUN FUN FUN. Moar: http://imgur.com/a/klZzm Also,
dont know if you know this but that skill system in the video is completely wrong now. there are no more skill points in the game. you gain each skill at a certain level. there is no customization out side of skill runes now.
Yeah, the narrator made a comment on how he believes that screenshot was outdated. Not choosing a "spec" might not be very diablo-esque, but I'm also pretty impressed by the variety of spell alterations you can do with runes. I'll wait for the beta before I decide on how I feel about the scrapping of the skill trees.
Skill power levels up automatically with your character level, and it can also be enhanced by runes and items with superior stats.

Diablo 3 beta is out. This guy is currently streaming it here. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/nomsayin
eh, I get sex every day... Haven't seen a new Diablo in what, a decade? I'm more excited about D3 currently.
Friends and Family beta started over the weekend. There is not an NDA with it so they are allowed to post what they want. Closed Beta for regular people is expected to start by the end of this week. The client is already available for download, but you can't do anything without a valid beta account. You can also check some of the major fan sites to find beta specs and expected video card performance.
Apparently, it takes 30min-1hr to do a full play through of the beta with each class. Shouldn't take too long for the current F&F beta players to exhaust the available content in a few days, and we can expect waves of open beta invites for stress testing in about a week. Side note, #D3SE on irc.rizon.net started the process of emulating a private server for D3, similar to the AI stuff done for SC2 beta I suppose. Should be interesting to follow.
I'm sure I'll get crap for this and no one will agree with me but I kinda wish they went towards this game's art direction but you know waaay more improved because they're Blizzard. I'm fully aware it looks like a Diablo 2 clone but I guess it just appeals to me. <iframe width="560" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/en8no_jEfAQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/6mjrpNrxOAQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/K3vHUc8cmy4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I just can't get over the oversaturated, glossy WoW/HON look Diablo 3 has going on. Sure the graphics looks great and all of that that but it just doesn't scream 'Diablo' to me. Change the title and take away a few other identifying D3 gameplay elements and I would be fooled that it was a completely different mmorpg brand. I'm sure I'll eventually get over it when I play it, maybe.
If you are interested or trying to get in the beta, I know I kind of posted vaguely that the clients were out there, but did not want to get to into it for fear Blizz would shut them down. Apparently some tech guys on their forums posted that they were legit and it was fine to go through a client download. So for anyone interested the clients can be found here: PC Mac You can't do much other than change the options, but if you do happen to get in beta it could save you some time later.
Even the first Torchlight is still good for those who absolutely need a fix before D3 finally comes out. I had never heard of it until I downloaded it six months ago. Quite diverting. No multiplayer (that's the main thing they'll be adding to Torchlight 2), but the single-player game is really fun. Only $20 to download.
