I know the players don't take major paycuts with helping the owners in mind, but who do you think benefits the most from these type of deals? the billionaire owners. When players take major paycuts to build superior teams, the owners are not making any sort of sacrifice financially but are reaping most of the financial benefits due to such decisions (increased valuation for the teams, increased revenues through tickets, local tv deals etc)
Lebron didn't go to college. He's gotten his friends bloated contracts and then demand playmakers and want all-stars on his team and still couldnt get it done. Now he might jump ship again. Adios goat wannabe
Thats why the cap increases every so year, to share in the profits with the players. I dont really care about the profits. I like to see players go where they can win. You can cheer on the Chandler Parsons for getting theirs. I'm sure thats what legends of the game are made of. Max contracts wherever they can get it.
Yup seems about right. Still odd, but money, family, franchise, sentiment and gut feeling can make a world of difference. Millsap can still ring chase after this.
Because there were no contenders with cap space. The Spurs were probably going after him if they could've dump Aldridge, same for us if we could've dump Anderson...too bad.
Anyone can create cap space. Rockets were gonna create cap space for Chris (if they didn't trade for him). Spurs were trying to create cap space. Celtics were gonna create cap space for Hayward & George.
Yeah obviuosly anyone can, but are you willing to do it if you have to unload two future 1st rounders with probably no protection? Probably not unless for a superstar. Boston had cap space but they were always after Hayward. Spurs tried to dump LMA but they couldn't. We tried to dump Anderson but we couldn't. I mean, there were only two potential contenders who could have had interest in Millsap, but both were not able to dump their current 4 for one reason or another.
Jordan couldn't get it done until he had all stars on his team as well. He spent 15 years in the league but only won 6 years, what were he doing the remaining 9? Oh yeah, he spent that time getting his ass kicked and couldn't get it done So tired of people acting like MJ only played for 6 years and won a ring every year he was in the league playing with Dleague scrubs. At least Lebron just switches teams, MJ switches sports.
Wow. Disrespecting a guy who left it all out on the court for them. Never took a play off. Didn't whine and complain. What a franchise. Major suckage, in my opinion.
Yeah...for that price Denver can keep him. 30M per year for 3 years? That's even worse than Ryan Anderson at 18M for 4 years. I know Millsap is a better player than Anderson but he isn't worth 30M wtf that is franchise superstar money it's not like he hard carried Atlanta in the playoffs he was just slightly better than Dwight. Maybe Prime Millsap would've been worth that amount but not current Millsap. I'm happy that Millsap got his $$$ but damn that is way too much for him.
He had pippen who came to the team as a rookie traded. Not the team buying all-stars for Jordan. Yeah Jordan got his ass kicked, all superstars on bad teams do. No one expected Jordan to win every year. Lebron switched teams because he wanted to win a ring easier. He was tired of getting his ass kicked by stronger western teams. So he got on teams with other superstars. Unfortunately his first year with his superstar buddies he got his ass kicked still by a team with a lone superstar. MJ switched sports after winning 3 straight. Like he was bored of it (and also because he was afraid they were finally going to meet the rockets in the finals)
