He played very well last year until he got traded to the Kings. I think he played better than Terrance Jones this year.
P.Pat was averaging over 1.2 PPS which is elite for an NBA player. Lin was helping him get good open looks and Patterson was knocking them down. Plus he's athletic enough to guard small fowards and big enough to guard power fowards.
Couldn't agree more. These guys need someone in the locker room who will remind them that they are playing for a championship, and that simple things like remembering your role, hitting FT's and passing the ball to the open man shouldn't be inconsistent habits. Someone who is thirsty for nothing but to win a championship this season. Someone in the mold of a KG would be ideal, but those are rare. Alternatively, a sudden change in Dwight Howard's seriousness could do wonders to convince the team that this is a turning point in the season. We can be fighting for a ring when all is said and done, or we could be a 2nd round exit.
Ive been saying all along to bring both chuck and ppatt back to the team, but you all say that I should move on and forget the past. Why should I forget the past when they give us the best fit at the forward spots and give us the best chance at winning in the near future? PPat knows the system and can be a stretch 4, while chuck can provide veteran leadership and throw some nice backdoor passes for easy layups. This just makes so much sense to me. So yes, I agree with OP in bringing him back.
Patterson had a xRAPM of -1.62 last season. Somewhat below average. Patterson had a PER of 15.23 last season almost dead on average (PER being an offensive stat and all that). Patterson had a WS of 4.1 last season. Average is 3.8.
He would be a great addition....for the 2nd team. He plays solid D, and will be better in the Rockets offense than others. TJones has higher upside, but he needs to get a reliable jumper.
I like PPat and enjoyed him last season, but he can't really rebound for a PF. That is the one stat I wish we could dominate.
Well, if not Patterson, throw out some names? I liked Patterson because he can stretch the floor, I thought he could play alright defense (I still think his defensive deficiencies are exaggerated), and he seems obtainable at this stage of his career). So, who else fits the bill? An interior defender who can stretch the floor well and is obtainable?
IIRC some loud-mouthed idiot who's wrong all the time was telling us that Brewer was actually good and would be playing a lot this year. Maybe we should exercise patience with him.
LOL, PPat would get eaten alive by small forwards. He doesn't have the lateral quickness to guard 3's
The perfect fit is actually LaMarcus Aldridge. Can start at PF, play the backup center and carry the offensive load with the bench team. While he isn't a great 3 point shooter, his ability to stretch the floor is still significant. PF for fit purpose: 1) Aldridge 2) Love 3) Dirk
Clown thread. Patterson is a very average replaceable player. I also don't think he'd be the perfect fit
Obviously aldridge is agreat player so they'd make it work but Idont think he's a perfect fit next to dwight and harden. Lma needs the ball for about 10 seconds and creates turnaround midrange jumpshots. I think a pf with a better catch and shoot skill like love (who seems to be able to make his moves in less time) is a better fit.
But the thunder a lot of young guys playin significant role also no vets. Besides fisher and Perkins and they're hated by thunder fans
Patterson's %% this season so far: FG %: .420 FT %: .657 3-Point %: .256 Yeah, that's "elite" and a "perfect fit" for us.
