If Jlin played 33 min and had 8 points and 0 assists, collected 3 boards, four fouls, and got torched by Reggie Jackson--many Rox fans would be calling for a trade. However those were Bev's numbers tonight! Bev shot like 36% from the floor (LIn's season avg is around 44%), shot 0% from three point land, missed a number of defensive assignments, committed dumb fouls which led to free throws, and had ZERO assists. Let's face it--the only reason the Rox scored 90 points tonight is because they shot nearly 50% from three: however they won't do that every game. With Bev at point, the Rox offense is comprised of swinging the ball around the three point line and hoping someone gets open--or, Harden penetration. Bev can't penetrate like Lin. Lin is supposedly the second-fastest pg in the NBA, faster in sprint than John Wall even: his first step is freakish. Lin opens things open, has better court awareness than Bev (notice for example how Smith didn't score tonight b/c he had no one to pass it to him) and is a better passer and playmaker.
Beverley is the Asian Jeremy Lin So much hate from the black community. They doubt him because he came from Europe.

what happened to sample size? ah yes since it's your argument, small sample size is overrated. "we're nowhere near the playoffs without jeremy"- Maury which is true, let's just say he doesn't out perform curry twice, like he did, we're getting the 14th pick all over again. Lin/bev will be a strong pg rotation, it' will be like having one that doesn't get tired for all 48 minutes. don't let the arrogance sink your judgement even more.
Im no LOF but even I can see hes better. OH MAN I JOINED IN 2013. I MUST HAVE NOT BEEN A ROCKET FAN BEFORE THEN!!!
lol clutch"fans" are a joke sometimes. lets be real, Pat is not better than Lin. Lin, Harden. Asik, X, Parsons are going to be great next season. I expect us to be anywhere from the two seed to 6 the lowest. And will likely still be considered the youngest team.
If the Rockets don't land Dwight Howard in the offseason, and assuming the Les isn't making gazillions from having Lin here, there's no reason why the Rockets shouldn't try to trade Lin in the offseason. The dip from Lin to Beverley is small. The dip from Lin's $16.6mil salary remaining to Beverley's $1.8mil salary remaining is ridiculous. Especially if the Rockets potentially want to fit 2 max salaries in 2014.
dude goes for 8 pts and 0 assists in 33 minutes with constant foul trouble and people are ready to anoint him starting PG for next season.
Wait a second, huh? Did you really just say Lin defends better than Beverly? Seriously? Do you actually watch basketball
salivating Teams in the West will be salivating for this to happen. Beverley has energy and enthusiasm, but his assists as a pg and court vision is no where near Lin. There were many regular season games in which when Beverley was in, the offense just stagnated and most guys except Harden will not benefit from the assist passes from Lin. Parson, Asik and Smith's productivity will go down. If Lin is not around, the Rockets will likely be replaced by other teams in the playoff spot. Ya, the other teams will be salivating to have Lin out of the Rockets (unless CP3 knocks on the door, lol).
