Maybe that's why we were trying to hire Billups--we want to give Beverley a role model to aspire towards. Personally I think it's a good match. Billups was another guy who had to work hard on filling his game out, year by year, until he was like 28yrs old and finally a complete player. And they have similar builds, unlike Lowry who looks more like a bowling ball/ninja turtle. All Ninja Turtle team: Russell Westbrook Zach Randolph Bonzi Wells Kyle Lowry
All Ninja Turtle team: Russell Westbrook- Raphael Zach Randolph-Donatello Bonzi Wells-Michaelangelo Kyle Lowry-Leonardo
Actually, now that I think about it, Lowry is smarter and Randolph is more experienced, so I'll make it: All Ninja Turtle team: Russell Westbrook- Raphael Zach Randolph-Leonardo Bonzi Wells-Michaelangelo Kyle Lowry-Donatello
Those numbers are pretty generous for Bev, especially the assist. He average just over 2 assist per game last season. So unless Harden gives up some of his ball handling (possible, but unlikely), Beverley won't reach that average. Beside, Beverley isn't the type of player to playmake. I still think he will improve though. 12ppg, 5rpg, 4apg, 2spg on 45/39 shooting. 2nd Team All Defense
Im not trying to be negative but I believe thats wishful thinking IMO. If anything I hope he improves on the assist end of his offensive game as a starting point guard.
I am worried bev is gonna play a ton of mins like parsons. With his bulkier size it will cause fatigue and may lead to injury.
Beverly is not a big pg. he needed to get stronger and its good that he did to go against all the starting pgs in the league today.
will be interesting to see Beverley show that he is the starting PG for the Rockets. It's all on his shoulders now.
Pretty sure he did that last season. Now it's on him to build on it. He certainly seems committed to doing so. I'm really looking forward to seeing what this team looks like in the coming season with the expected personal growth of young players like Beverley, Harden, and Jones plus the benefit of having a year together and fewer distractions than they had going into last season.
