I didn't mind this until I heard Mike Greenberg from the Mike and Mike radio show, beat this phrase unmercifully into the ground on every show. Greenberg will literally utter this phrase about a dozen times a day. It's his crutch phrase and massively annoying because it doesn't mean anything. He's even got Golic doing it at times. And honestly I don't even listen to that show anymore. I like their chemistry and all, but they just repeat themselves all the time. Same arguments and segments get repeated all the time. It's a four hour show with two hours worth of content, or more like 90 minutes with commercials.
You missed the big ones: "Touch base" "Above and beyond" "Hugs and hand pounds" Okay, that last one isn't work-related. Unless you work on Stump the Shwab.
Touch base and above and beyond i hate, another is "please advise" but the one I hate the most is "going forward" other ones non-work: "holla at yo boy" "nose for the ball" anything that has to do with "making that paper"
2 Sports ones that I hate. 1) "Got to bring my 'A' game." - As opposed to bringing their B- or C+ game!?!? 2) "That player/coach is as good as anyone in the league." -- as good as? So basically you are saying they are average? This one I hear almost DAILY on any sports show.
The biggest cliche of all is the word "cliched" - try trite, hackneyed or overused instead. Enough with all that French **** I say
