The recent trade from Bucks brought us Leuer. I am not sure if anyone really knows him. I admit that I had no idea who he was. So i started looking over his stats and found some similarities. Which leads me to a conclusion about Morey.

    Leuer:
    Height: 6'10
    Weight 228lb
    Age: 23 born in 89
    PER 15.31
    PPG: 4.42
    APG: .5
    RPG:2.6
    Minute per game 12.1
    Games played 46

His stats are near identical to Parson.

    Parson:
    Leuer:
    Height: 6'9
    Weight 227lb
    Age: 23 born in 88
    PER 13.33
    PPG: 9.5
    APG: 2.1
    RPG: 4.8
    Minute per game 28.1
    Games played 63

On a per min basis they are near identical. Even there 3pt% is roughly the same. The only exception is in FT% where Parson is 50% and Leuer is 75%.

Superficially speaking their games from a statistical prospective are the same. But Leuer has a slight edge on Parson, He can work down in the post and isnt afraid to use it. For the Bucks Leuer played more in the post at PF however, in College he was more of a SF. His skill set is more of a SF like Parson. If we play him more at the SF where his natural position is, i am sure we could have the SF position locked up for years to come with no drop in from production from Parson to Leuer.

The way I see Dmorey picking up a lot of Forwards leads me to believe that he is looking for someone to fill the SF role not the PF role. He is valuing Height and length. I think he views the SF as a dynamic Defensive stopper. Most teams best Defender is at the 3 position because they could guard positions 1-4. Look at the SF we had in the past, Trevor Ariza, Battier, Word Peace. The problem in some of our past teams is the defensive drop off in the SF from the starters and the back up.

Anyways, just thinking out loud to get away from the Dwight drama. Good pick up by Dmorey in my opinion if he pans out like Parson.

It looks like Leuer has put on more weight. He is more like 240 now.

Leuer isn't nearly the defender Parsons is. Not even close.

Leuer was used at both PF & C. He's 6-11 in shoes, the same height as Camby.

the fact that they have identical stats shouldve made you think parsons is great cause he has the stats of a freakin CENTER, being a SF.

    lame thread.

I am saying that Leuer should be moved back SF where he has an advantage. Not that parson is great because of the stats of a C.

look at some of Leuer college games - he is mobile and moves well. Shoots the ball well... Now if he has added the extra 20lbs... i might change my view point on him..

#1) Leuer came in the deal with the Bucks
#2) They really play different positions
#3) Leuer is a nice player, but doubtful to be on this team

Leuer is no small forward. He's the most effective as a defensive PF, but long term I think he's clearly a 5.
Either way, a very nice pickup.
I think the Bucks will come to regret that trade.

I get that they are in a win-now mode.
But Dalembert isn't worth moving down in the draft, giving up Leuer who will be a decent backup for many years, and ending up with more salary.

Actually, Leuer has some trippy pre draft measurements.

    6'11.5 in shoes - 7ft wingspan - 5.4 body fat - 29.5 no step - max 36.5 - bench 17

Anybody else find a man who's almost 7ft, that almost has a 40 inch vert in pretty crazy???

Compare this dudes pre draft measurements to parsons, Leuer is actually a all round better athlete besides agility which even that is too off for strength and hight differential

Most don't know this, because Parsons' defense was so good on Durant and the like, but CP worked best on both O and D playing the 4. If you look at his advance stats, it's superior in every way, not going to list, if I did, you wouldn't learn how to learn on your own. Leuer is a 4, not a 3, not a 5. If he added weight and muscle he could play the 5 in a pinch or small ball, but he is a 4. Why do you want guys with hops at the 3? Those guys hang at the 3P line..... Parsons is a 3, who plays the 4 slot phenomenally, Leuer is a true 4.

So you don't think he can be a R.Lewis type player that could play both depending on the match up?

Doing more research I do see him much bigger than he was in college...

I think Leuer cheated on the vertical leap. He doesn't have the longest arms, but with his height and wingspan, it is strange for him to have a shorter standing reac (8'9.5'') than Patterson (8'11'').

He probably tanked his standing reach measurement by slouching a little bit so he can have higher measured verticals.

Plenty of doubt, given his non-guaranteed contract, and playing the team's most stacked position.

Parsons looks more fluid and athletic, Leuer plays more like a big man
