being ranked 8th and being a second round pick is pretty spectacular, parsons looks like mchales new wonderboy here the rankings link: http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/players/rookies/rankings
Looks like he is on paste for the all-rookie team. If he keeps up his current performance I don't see why he can't make it into the all-star rookie team as well.
****ing steal. I'm just seeing a solid 3 that, with enough experience, can start for a championship team like Lowry. If he keeps his production up and Irving takes a slide, he can win ROY. Idk how Rubio gets so far up there. I've got no doubt Morey's trying to trade Morris. He's undersized as a 4. He probably won't be better than Markieff at that position who's mediocre. Either Markieff learns to play the three or Parsons moves to the two.
Or how about MM moves to the 2 so Parsons can stay at the 3? With the way MM has slimmed down I think he can play some SG. His defense can't be as bad as KM, and on offense he'll be able to bully all the weak SGs and score in the post. Lowry/MM/Parsons/PP/Dalembert-> I like it. Everyone is tough and has a lunchpail/oldschool mentality.
This is homer-ism to the extreme. No, he can't win ROY. If Irving didn't exist, he still wouldn't win ROY. I congratulate him for way exceeding expectations, but let's not be crazy here. Rubio gets up there so far because he's been great for a rookie. Should Irving be the clear-cut top rookie at this point? I think so. But I think Rubio is the clear-cut number 2.
He's got slow feet. If you see him run up and down the court, there's just no burst. He's been putting up great numbers. I don't mean great for a rookie, just great, period.
Totally agree. I've even heard ppl say Parsons could be our star. Look, he's exceeded expectations and I'm certainly glad about that. He might remain the starter or maybe next year he'll be supplanted by MM or someone else. He's not ROY material, and may not even be starter material on a championship caliber team. He's like our new Battier-he hustles and plays good D. He'll never be a great offensive player and will probably always be a good role player.
Parsons is stilling Morris's minutes. J/k. I am just wonder what happened in practice that showed that Parsons is so much better than Morris at the 3.
