I just on 610 that the Pacers have expressed a very strong desire to get Hakeem. Dunno what Matt Jackson sources were on this info.

My guess is Rockets can offer more and have the better team. No chance.

I'm not sure what the chances are of the Paceers grabbing Hakeem, but if they somehow manage to sign Dream, and also make a trade for C-Webb, they would have themselves a very dangerous team. With Miller Time and Rose already there, Webber and Hakeem would balance the team with some post presence.

The chances of that happening, however, are slim.

Sign and trade Hakeem for Croshere?

    I would do it.

Croshere does have more years left in him than dream, but I think one strong finals doen't make a whole career. Croshere is way over rated IMO

I would have briefly considered a Hakeem sign-and-trade for Croshere a week ago, but the Rockets look pretty set at the forward spots. Griffin will man the 3 for years, and Mo Taylor is just as good as Croshere but will probably sign for slightly less than Austin's 7 yrs./$51 million. While I like Croshere, he is too expensive and is kind of a 'tweener: a big tough small forward or an undersized big man.

Do you guys actually think Rudy would trade Hakeem. He didn't tade him to Toronto when we had a chance to nab some lottery picks a couple of years ago.

And he probably regrets it every day of his life, but that would have landed us Bender, Willis, Christie. I dont like Bender. Croshere is paid a little much, and we need a strong rebounder. Id rather have Outlaw for picks.

We wouldn't have had to take Bender with that pick though...Marion would have been nice.

Or we could have just traded the pick to Indiana for Antonio Davis as Toronto later did.

    DaDakota,

Why Hakeem for Croshere? What does Croshere play? Hmmmnn...SF and PF. I think that we have a log-jam there for a while. With Griffin, Morris, Taylor (he'll resign), Bullard, and Thomas, we need Croshere like we need a hole in our heads.

Besides, we need somebody to play center besides Kelvin Playdough.

Could we trick them into Dream and Cato for Harrington and Croshere!

And what the hell happens to Jermaine O'Neal? He's pretty good you know.

I doubt he goes to Indiana.

If he bolts, I see him going to Orlando or Miami.

The weather he likes, good teams, and in the East.

I think the people saying Dream and Webber would be awesome up front for Indiana are assuming O'Neal would be in the trade for Webber. Personally, I would keep O'Neal because he can be a very good PF AND Center in the East!

What has Croshere done lately? Keep Hakeem. Our forward position will be fine. We need a center for the future. If they would trade O'Neil, then I would do it, but I doubt they would do that.

From what I hear Indiana was reluctant to trade O'Neal for Webber, so he looks untouchable.

A guy who gets overlooked on the Pacers who I'd want to grab in return is Jeff Foster. He didn't get much time but was ranked:

#1 in the NBA in Offensive Rebounds per 48 Min.(6.0)
#13 in the NBA in Defensive Rebounds per 48 Min. (10.2)
    and
#5 in the NBA in Rebounds per 48 Min. (16.2)

He also has range to 20+ feet, he's young (24), and he might be avalable, as the Pacers have a bit of a log jam @ PF-C.

He would seem to be a somewhat ideal fit, sort of Collier with rebounding skills and a bit of toughness.

Agreed, Jermaine had a breakthrough season, and will only get better. However, as RocksMillenium mentions below your post, I was assuming O'Neal would be included in any Webber deal.
