Per Rotoworld The Pacers have reached out to restricted free agent PG Kyle Lowry. The Pacers are wisely on a quest to find a point guard, but Lowry isn't the kind of pass-first setup man that they need. We think they'd be better off going with Jordan Farmar, even if Farmar is significantly more expensive. Source: Mike Wells on Twitter
Hopefully teams don't drive the value of Lowry up high enough to where we won't match. I know Alexander has already been on record saying we'll match whatever offers come in for Lowry and Scola, but I've gotta think there's a limit to that statement.
Wait, they think Farmar is more of a setup man than Kyle? Well, whatever, let 'em think that I guess.
I am speechless at the idea that Farmer would command much more money than Lowry. WTF!? If Lowry had played on the Lakers last year, he'd be their 1st guard off the bench.
I've been saying all along that Pacers were going to go after Lowry. Its going make him more expensive for us. I can see the Pacers willing to pay close to the MLE for him. Good point guards are expensive, and Lowry is just the tough, high character guy, Bird has been looking for .
and the idea that Lowry somehow isn't a pass first point guard and Farmar somehow is............. Dude is on crack. Farmar ain't nothing but a glorified jump shooter, break finisher. Lowry is a playmaker. No comparison.
Actually, he's half black, half white; and he's Jewish. Needless to say, he's always been a fan favorite of mine and my wife's for that reason.
