ESPNSteinLine Marc Stein Sources tell ESPN that Pacers making progress toward two-year, $20M deal with David West thanks to West's stalled sign-and-trade to Boston 44 minutes ago Sources also tell ESPN that, as @MikeWellsNBA predicted, Pacers and Grizzlies again engaged Josh McRoberts/OJ Mayo talks. This time S-and-T 40 minutes ago Solid moves for a young team that is looking to improve.
Pacers had interest in Nene. They could have offered him the max and still be under the cap. Interestingly Pritchard joined their front office at the end of last season.
True, Pritchard is probably involved in signing West I bet though. Bird wanted Mayo last year for McRoberts. Pacers lineup is actually solid: PG Collison / George Hill SG Mayo / Paul George SF Granger / George PF West / Hansbrough C Hibbert / Jeff Foster
We could / should have traded scola. Less money per year and actually played full season last year! Morey work your magic before it's too late.
McRoberts and Rush for Mayo... Maybe Mayo will show something more up in Indy. He has been pretty underwhelming.
hoopsworld jumped the gun on this. McRoberts agent says it hasn't happened. If it does, though, it is essentially getting Mayo for nothing, since Rush was not in their plans and neither was McRoberts, after signing West. Larry Bird may be getting stuff done.
WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski The Pacers have decided to amnesty James Posey and his $6.9 million contract, league sources tell Y! Sports.
Collison Gorge Granger West Hibbert And a scorer like Mayo off the bench is a great foundation to start with. Granger and West will score heavily and Hibbert will lockdown the paint.
Indiana must be one of the better managed teams in the league .They get a underrated PF for 2 years with little risk and much reward. Their contract with granger is good. Their patience is frustrating to some, but they received undervalued players from all over. They are very smartly run and resist the urge of the idiots in the press who say to SPEND right away when you have money and then when you have these bad contracts get back on you and say why did you spend. I hear them talking about pacers being cheap or Charlotte being cheap, why woudl tyou spend just to spend when you are handcuffing your franchise in the future to get something worthwhile. If the players in the FA are not worth it, wait it out rather than being stuck with it for the long run. The media is just a joke, in their voting ,opinion, etc.
They have recovered from a full decade of bad contracts, so it was a lesson learned through pain... bad contracts of Jamaal Tinsley Jermaine O'neal Mike Dunleavy Troy Murphy Then there was the need to parts ways ASAP with Ron Artest, Stphen Jackson, and Tinsley due to bad behavior, at any cost. The tail end of the Donnie Walsh regime was not a pretty sight, but the skies are getting blue now in Pacerland.
Larry has done a great job staying patient, and turning down deals when they don't work. I like how the Jazz manage their small market too...
Larry has been criticized for going after low upside players (tyler hansbough), but last year when that team went toe to toe with the Bulls, suddenly he is a genius. I LOVE what larry is doing. Because he is building that team the right way. They are going to be tough to beat. Their whole team is filled with hard nosed tough sobs.
I've honestly forgotten that the Pacers even existed for a while now... Same with bucks and... I know there's another one....
