I'm not surprised by the move, and I seriously doubt Prigioni over Brown was going to make a huge difference over the course of a season. But in the short term, until Beverley comes back, I really hope D'Antoni lets Gordon run the offense off the bench when Harden is not on the floor. I don't really want to see Ennis or Brown playing more than 5-10 minutes a game max.
Because history has shown that you can win a championship without a legit point guard. Signed, Kyrie Irving, 2016 Stephen Curry, 2015 Tony Parker, 2014
This is one of those posts that hopefully one day, bump and say.. you need to add Harden to that list
We have James Harden as the legit point guard. Also why do you think the Rockets will win a ring this year? Have you seen the Cavs and GSW roster?
CC'd Mario Chalmers 2013 Mario Chalmers 2012 47 yr old Jason Kidd, 2011 Derek Fisher, 2010 Derek Fisher, 2009
Harden's designation as the team's point guard is probably Morey finally accepting that the game has changed since 2013 and needing an elite player at that position is a necessity and not just an afterthought.
I took a nap thinking Ennis was gone, then woke up to this. Disappointed... I really like/trust Pablo.
That's a convenient coincidence....what basis do you have to make this statement? What's changed in the league in the last 3 years that would make an elite pg essential?
You don't think the game has shifted towards small ball lineups since 2013? Even when Howard was brought in as a free agent the game was already shifting towards the playing more lineups with stretch fours. Last year's conference finals featured 4 teams with all stars at the point guard position: Lowry Irving Curry Westbrook Year before that? Curry Irving Harden if you consider him being our point guard already Teague If you want to disagree with my opinion that's fine. But that doesn't escape the fact that the game has changed to a more guard oriented game where the point guard not only is the facilitator but is probably also the best player on the team.
Smaller, faster, more perimeter oriented yes. But elite pg no. Clearly the best player on last years team wasn't kyrie. It was someone who could play small and facilitate. I'd say a team needs their best player to be an elite player at 1-3...but essential that he be a 1? No i don't buy that....
