Over the last 2 years, the Rockets are 17-1 when TJ attempts at least 14 shots.

Griffin is like a big bulky PF from another realm... He's actually built more like a giant linemen in football. There's literally no physical specimen that is his equal in the entire league. He would be paid big time once unrestricted free agency hits and he remains the same specimen as we see today.

 

I don't understand this stat at all. We don't want Jones regularly putting up that many shots for a reason. I'm sure when he does get that many attempts he's crashing the offensive boards, getting tips and alley oops. He probably has put up some of those games with Dwight out. He will never be a dominant offensive player.

 

its really not an interesting stat. when he plays well he shots more, and as a 4th/5th option if they're lighting up obviously it puts the team in a good position.

 

Fair point. I [wrongly] presumed that you wanted us to run plays specifically for Jones. He just needs to become more aggressive.

He's a great rebounder, a good defender. If he could only pick up an offensive move or two. We do not need him standing at the 3 point line.

Regardless, the stat still strikes me as kind of useless. To your defense, I checked and our winning % is significantly less when Ariza, Bev, Smith and DMo have taken that many shots.

 

TJ need to just move to the rim. Who cares if he get blocks, just DO SOMETHING. Don't be so passive once you get the ball.

 

McHale is racist, not letting Jones play enough minutes to shoot more than 17 shots.

Exactly why Jones needs to be traded during the offseason. He's shown flashes of talent but he crumbles during the playoffs, and clearly can't guard bigs like Griffen or LA?

 

Wrong thread, meant to say Jones has not been involved in a single good play tonight. Jones man is either killing the Rockets on defense or Jones is killing Rockets on offense himself. He had these kind of performances in the last year playoffs too. He is such a liability second playoffs in a row you start to think Rockets might not even want to extend him this summer and trade. Cappela and DMO are looking much better options going forward.

This stat only shows that roleplayers in the NBA get to shoot 14 times only when they're hot.

 

TJones looks totally different than before the lung injury. Dude lost all confidence.

 

Hopefully after this series T-Jones won't attempt any more shots for the Rockets.
