He's ten times better than Smith, despite the legacy. Should have his own show, Stephen is greedy in that regard. Yes, I'm fully aware he defends hypocritical views that he has to conjure up on the day. That's just the format of those shows, the producer tells them what will get the most clicks, assigns one of them to attack a player team, and the other to defend. This causes maximum clicks because when one says "Houston sucks" all of Houston comes to defend it, and then that tells the algorithm the video has high potential, and it alerts all the other fans on their front page to come argue back. It sucks, but it works for numbers, which is what ESPN cares about.

Why is ESPN even necessary? Just call it flavor of the month team / New York / LA teams. They dismiss or disrespect what any team that isn’t in their radar is doing…. To me, ESPN is unwatchable…. I’m not in their demographics. For those of you who are, I guess someone has to buy what the commercials are selling. I used to watch, but just can’t anymore…
I used to watch it a ton until I wanna say 2009? It has really jumped the shark in terms of objective sports content. If I just want to watch people sensationalizing opinions I have every other channel for that.
I think NY does get too much coverage, but that aspect is overblown imo The biggest surprise to me is that they almost exclusively cover only football and basketball anymore.
It seems to be part of the formula that one dude is white and the other black though. Not sure first take or undisputed is the same with two dudes of the same race.
they are all about large markets and big stars. basically money. if the rockets had someone profitable like a chinese dude who had a billion fans, we'd be on tv all the time. or a bearded guy who represents adidas and is friends with rappers.
For real - I used to like the channel when it was more down to earth. Belly flop contests and those power boat races where drug kingpins were allowed to race and actually win! Those were the days! Wait I might be thinking of Netflix.
