Other than Daniels' game winning 3, the biggest play in game 3 might have been Harden's leadership.

In OT, tied at 116, after Lin had that huge turnover, the old Harden would have either yelled at him or given him the cold shoulder, in fact, he probably was angry with him and had to restrain himself from lashing out at him. And if Harden would have done that, knowing how mentally weak Lin can be, he might have just checked out for the rest of the series. Instead, Harden showed great leadership and poise by grabbing Lin and telling him to relax, calming him down. Harden knows that Lin will play big minutes and his success and failure is vital to the team's success and failure and I'm really impressed with how Harden handled the situation.

Why aren't there more videos of Harden showing leadership?

I was impressed with this as well - hopefully he keeps it up with all of his teammates.

I was also surprised Harden calmed down the team at that point also. Usually they have angry stares at each other when someone commits a mistake

yea, noticed this too. i think games 1 and 2 must have been really humbling for Harden. that's a good trait to have in a leader. hope he continues to grow in that role and gets out of his shooting slump.

from the clip, the conversation looked like they were saying:

    Lin: I know, I'm trying!
Harden: Don't worry about it, Don't worry.

I think Harden was telling him to give him the ball earlier.
as they ran the same PnR switch afterwards and had Harden post up Lillard.

    and it worked.

Good to know Mchale is so damn predictable: Harden ISO every time down the stretch

One of my favorite moments in the game thread and happy to see him do that because earlier through out the game there was a lot of this,

Harden 'yelling' at bev, bev making gestures at Dwight, dwight recklessly eyeballin' Daniels, Maury displeased with Mchale(according to insider)

To me it looks like Lin was saying, "I know it was a foul".

no harden told Lin to chill. gave him a pat after. calmed him down. support from your teammates matters, esp if it's your superstar to get reassurance

I must have missed something, the guy who choked in the 2012 finals, had a ****ty playoff performance last year and is shooting like 7% from the field this year is mentally tougher than Lin, the guy who made the game winning play? I want the whole team to do well, but it's BS statements like this that make it so easy to call out harden
