You definitely overrate Rafer's trade value.

If this is true, then we have to cut two players off our current roster, and it can't be Foyle or Wilks.

Well not sure if TMac would count toward a roster spot if he's placed on the IR, but we have 14 players on the roster before the trade. So if we make a 1 for 4 trade we'd have to cut one to two guys.

Doesn't seem to be right, Rafer wasn't making that much to have to include 4 guys to match his salary. Looked it up and Cook was making 3-4M and his contract lasts until '10.

Our freakin starting point guard wouldn't even start on a healthy Orlando team....we're not exactly giving away chris paul here...

Your're right and you'll have trouble "selling" Foyle to most here. But my guess is Dorsey is getting cut.

I'm confused by this. Alston makes $4.9 million this season according to Hoopshype. Cook makes $3.5, Foyle $1.26, Wilks $1.00, and Lowry $1.16. We have $6.92 incoming and $4.9 outgoing. That would be a 29% salary gap, which I think is too wide for the CBA. Anyone have insight?

Our starting point guard would not have started on -any- team.

ESPN: "The Rockets are expected to receive Grizzlies guard Kyle Lowry, Orlando forward Brian Cook and perhaps two other minimum-salaried players to make the finances work."

He's a good shot blocker, a decent rebounder, and a guy you can use to guard the other team's post player (for an undersized team -- that's big). And he's a veteran. And he's a good locker room guy.

You get all that from trade filler. How is that a bad thing?

Run it through the trade checker, deal only works if Cook goes to Memphis, this makes more sense. This gives the Rockets more luxury tax room this summer. However, we have to cut one player off our current roster to do the deal. Bye bye Luther?
