10-6 is my vote, +/- 1 Colts - W @MIA - W @NO - L Steelers - L Raiders - W @BAL - L @TEN - L Jaguars - W Browns - W @TB - L @JAX - W Falcons - L @CIN - W Panthers - W @IND - W Titans - W I think Miami is a potential swing game - Reggie Bush could have a resurgent year, and our defense is vulnerable to scatbacks able to bounce outside. Titans could also be thorny if Chris Johnson is full strength after the holdout. I wonder if the Colts are going to have to shut Manning down for the year. Obviously that would make the division ours for the taking. Praying to anyone up above for as healthy a season as one can get in the NFL.
↑↑ now, that is a Texans-looking schedule right there. Still under .500 at one point, a four-game win-streak at the end. Well done.
His looks a lot like mine, only he waits until week 8 to engage buttrape mode, whereas I put mine starting at week 7.
i'm with the 11-5 crowd. people forget, the texans were 4-2 and then dameco went down. you don't realize how important a guy like that is, hands down the best defensive player on the team. here's hoping to a healthy comeback
We are going to sweep the Colts and Titans. Split with the Jags. Last game against the colts, they wont be playing for anything since I expect they will be out of it if Peyton misses 3 games or more. I've never picked the Texans to win more than 9 games. I think they'll get to 11 this year. Manning being out, I think, is a sign of things to come - a season in which, finally, the ball starts to bounce Houston's way. I think they'll be 5-3 at the midpoint. By then, Wade's defense will be clicking and they'll storm to a 6-2 finish and win the division. Oh man... that felt weird. Especially since I can't shake the thought of Collins engineering some wild upset Sunday.
In those 6 games, we gave up 28 points per game. In the games without Ryans, we gave up 26 points per game. There is only so much a middle linebacker can do when you have the worst corner combination in the NFL. Really wouldnt have mattered if he was healthy or not, the secondary was too big of a liability.
Last week, I was confident that with or without Manning, we'd win. Every day that we get closer to game day, Im becoming less and less optimistic. I still expect a big victory, but Im getting myself mentally prepared for a let down. I guess it just comes with the territory of being a Texans fan. This website might explode if we manage to fumble that game away.
All division games are played tough. True, but I've got zero confidence in MoJo this season. Everything I've seen and heard is saying that those knees are shot and he's done. Toss in a mild QB controversy, a terrible receiving corps, and a nonexistent fanbase at home and I'm not expecting much out of them. More concerned about Chris Johnson.
Tampa, Carolina, Cinci, and Atlanta are the only dangerous teams left. I think we drop the game @ Tampa and somehow lose to either Carolina or Atlanta, but not both. But even if we drop 3 out of those 4, we're still 10-6 and win the division.
