According to SI.com, Billy Hunter will study everything about the proposal and present it to the players.

It's time to let Scola go before it's too late. If we can't trade him by the deadline he should be Amnesty'd

He was a warrior and an All time great Rocket but his body is failing him and we can't afford to keep him on the bench with Montijunas coming next season and because Scola makes $10 million for the next 3 years.

Martin has value. Teams will trade for a 29 year old scorer eventually.

This is not about certain players. As I said, currently the team is heading towards a little nowhere.

Amnesty question.... Can u amnesty a player and then resign them? For example, could DM take Scola to the side and say "Luis, for the good of all concerned, we're gonna amnesty you - paying u the full amount you're due - and then resign u for the vet min. You make more money, but only the min counts against the cap..."

No, I believe you go to a waiver wire type system and if nobody claims you, then you're unrestricted. Once that happens I'm not sure how long that player would have to wait before resigning with their former team.

Scola's salary fits real cleanly into the Lakers' trade exception as the replacement for Lamar Odom.

The pre-requisite is that the team needs to convince star players to come to Houston. After that, the cap situation can be worked out via trade, amnesty or stretch. Unfortunately, this seems to be a huge hurdle right now.

Scola is hardly the sole problem with this team

True but he is the most expensive problem.

I will be very surprised if Scola is still a Rocket after March 15, 2012.

Wow, I can read all the Scola haters together. Scola is ok. Our team is ok, and the Rockets are playing better than last year.
But haters are haters and every time they write, is to say something negatives aboaut Scola.
Haters you are like kids, you only watch all the negatives thing, you dont understand reasons.
Scola is still a solid player, off course this is not his best year, but hi is still an elite PF with more heart and brain than others. Why do you thing Kevin Love turn mad agains him? Did you see that Scola was the only one who could stops Gasol the other night? His is our 2nd best Scorer.
He has only 2 more years garantee contract (not 3)
Hes loves playing for houston, he doesnt bring problems
    What else do you expect?

Most people want Scola in a Blake Griffin, or at least Otis Thorpe's body.

With so much cap space going into next season it is NOT time. Its time for Patterson, Morris, or someone else to beat him out of the rotation by developing their post game. Scola doesn't need to be amnestied, he needs to be beat out for minutes.

If Deron Williams is waiting to be signed in free agency, but they just need the cap space, then its time to amnesty him. Until then, guys like Patterson and Morris should be busting their butts in practice to get better and beat him out.
