Showing on the court (Linsanity and Aggressive brand of play) is not equivalent to throwing tantrums off it.

He would actually be rewarded with more playing time..... Playing well always does this. Fans, Media would scream for your name and even if you are in the dog house. Coaches would get fired of not playing a star in the making.

Don't forget how AWFUL we were defensively without Asik last year. All of these proposed trades shipping him out and bringing in a stretch 4 -- we're back in the exact same situation again defensively, with DH on the floor we're ok, when he's off, we're bottom 5 in defense. OR, God forbid that he gets hurt, and then we end up with charmin-soft defense that gets carved up night after night once again.

Don't ship Asik out so fast. Get his head back in the game, make him prove he's a team player, and he'll still bring great value THIS season, probably moreso than most trades we might be able to pull off.

if Omer was a better basketball player he wouldn't have lost his spot. Only has himself to blame.

I had a lot of respect for Asik from last season and coming into this season but if he isn't even suiting up or putting himself before the team then I'm losing serious respect for the guy. I get you are unhappy, but there's no need to make the situation even more difficult. And there is not excuse for quitting on your team. He is still getting paid and will get paid. I hope he didnt just quit and is just the coaches trying to send a message or sickness.

Yeah he's being a baby. Thinks he's "entitled" to start. Really disappointed in his immaturity.

Why is it hard to figure out?

He refuses to play HARD for the good of the team, therefore he is being disciplined.

The situation is different only because Omer makes it so. He was already given major minutes. He failed to produce. Lack of effort is the reason.

Lin, on the other hand, has had his minutes cut, only to earn them back, repeatedly. Extra effort is the reason.

Dmo and Tjones need to slap him on the shoulder and say "Thanks for the minutes, bro!"

No. The 2 PG lineup can work in spurts in today's NBA, countless teams have proven this, especially if one is more of a scorer, which Lin is. The 2 true C lineup (with neither player having noticeable PF skills) doesn't work in today's NBA. We tried it and it failed.

    PG/PG can work in stretches.
    SG/SG can work in stretches.
    SF/SF can work in stretches.
    PF/PF can work in stretches.
C/C will pretty much never work, especially if both guys play within 8 feet of the hoop.

There's really only one way Omer can get on the floor - by cutting into Dwight's minutes. And since Dwight is generally better than Omer (and with the investment we've made in D12), that's just not going to happen.

Hate how Omer is behaving though.

Dwight is playing too many minutes already, the plan for the team was to use a deep roster. Harden, Lin, and Howard need to be spaced out and play fewer minutes, there was supposed to be lots of rotation opportunity for minutes for all players. Omer's lack of effort breaks that entire system from the beginning.

It was reasonable to expect that TT would muck up the offense a little bit. But TT was a disaster because of DEFENSE - giving up 30 and 40 points in the 1st quarter, repeatedly. Thus forcing more minutes on the star players and shortening the rotation.

Lack of defense, from a defensive lineup? That's lack of effort.

Jones and D-Mo making a strong case for Asik to be traded after tonight's game.

Don't count on Bosh. (And I hope Miami isn't hoping for Asik - with Haslem and Anthony LOL)
