All the MVP came down to was triple double hype. If you asked someone to give a rational argument for why Russel is more deserving, the only conceivable thing people can say are his stats are just amazing. I mean he has a whole extra TWO rebounds a game.
Everybody keeps saying they built for the playoffs... Silver might need to make some calls to the officials to help them get into the playoffs if they keep playing like this.
Yep lol, and that only like three months into the season, cause until that point they were all saying OKC was going to be a top 4 seed while the Rockets 7/8th seed at best.
Dougie McBuckets is at a 12 PER right now after being at 9.3 last season with OKC -- he was 11.3 with the BULLS before the trade last season. So it looks like he has gone back to being the guy he was prior to being traded to OKC
James is a transcendent player and one of the best offensive players ever (top 10 forsure) Westbrook isn't even a top 10 player in this era. He was top 10 for maybe 2 seasons max and that's being generous. He is what he is, a juiced up Steve Francis. You can't win with a guy like him. He'll always be a stats only guy. The fans and media will catch on in a year or two.
Westbrook is one of the most overrated players to grace the NBA, along with Iverson and Pippen. The only argument besides "muh tripplle dubblz" for Westbrook MVP last year was "BUH MUH WB HAD NO HALP" Now you see how everyone who is leaving OKC is having better years... Durant, Kanter, Oladipo, Sabonis.... My point ALL ALONG was that he DOES have enough help. Nobody listened. Now he's got the big names next to him, still struggling, may not even make the playoffs... and now people are finally letting go of their bias.
I agree had harden had that okc team last year the rockets would have still won 55+ and would have made it to the WCF with ease. Harden would have made olidipo and allstar and had Steve Adams putting up 18/12 Mcbuckets would have had so many open threes and Kanter and sabonis would have feasted off the pick and roll
This game showed exactly why we wanted Melo. He can take Draymond completely out of Golden State's defensive plan. The switching by OKC on defense proved they can potentially be one of the only teams in the conversation for beating the Warriors. The question remains whether the Thunder can shoot that well 4 times within a series, and whether Russ can play that smart 4 times within a series. I didn't like the Thunder winning and gaining some new found self belief within themselves.
At this point, a Russell Westbrook triple double is a Genji ultimate -- sounds scary, but is quickly shutdown by a dart.
"Yeah," Westbrook said when asked if that was the shot he wanted. "In and out. Happens like that sometimes."
Pippen? Cmon man Pippen guarded the opponent's best player and was the playmaker of the team. He was the 2nd best wing in his era after His Airness.
