I think most rational and unbiased observers, analysts and media people realise that Westbrook won because of the triple-double, that it kind of looks silly in hindsight, that he's not this great defender, that he is not this great teammate and actually lets his ego and selfishness get in the way of winning.
Completely honestly, im starting to think melo shouldve just gone to portland. He wouldve had a fun time and theyd probably still be a top 4-5 team. We dont need him here (although i still think we would be very good with him) and its obviously a disaster in OKC. In hindsight, I think portland was always the right answer for his career and happiness. He will rue the day that he signed off on OKC.
Im not sure about that. I believed that during the summer but I doubt it now honestly. I think we would be a slightly worse team with him. He shouldve just gone to portland
I didn't want Melo after he caved so easily. It proved he was a weak-minded loser who would have messed up the Rockets. They dodged a bullet.
looks like he changed his mind after seeing WB balling in a couple of pickup games while CP3 and Harden were just taking it easy
Agreed. If he wasn't willing to stick to his guns and force the trade he wanted or force a release then he wasn't concerned about winning and people who aren't concerned about winning aren't players you want.
Well Melo never been a good evaluator of talent. He made the Knicks gut their team to get him out of Denver. This is after he went to the WCF on said Denver team btw... He ran Lin and MDA out of town, instead of seeing that maybe it could have worked. He then decided foolishly to play with two ISO players instead of playing with two of the best playmakers in the NBA. It's on him. He could have been here, probably would have done well, we'd probably be even better since we would not give up much to get him if he just waits it out...but nope.
Melo is a chemistry killer. I'm not saying that the OKC mess is totally his fault. But if you want someone to bring a team together, Melo isn't the one you want.
No CP3 Rockets still win... No KD Warriors still win... OKC loses with full team on display. What a fake threat!
I was very disappointed when Melo caved but I can see why he did. It wasn't far fetched that OKC would be a contender with Melo, PG13 and WB. It made it additionally hurtful that a team I don't like might take away a title from a team I like because of his caving. But my disappointment has turned to happiness because of this train wreck. And loosing to Dallas...hahahaha. Last night Melo only got 3 more minutes of burn than fat Felton. That's gotta hurt...
